I just found some red and gold H holiday ribbon spools on eBay, and I'm going to weave them together and make a checkbook cover. The red would look nice that way.

I'll probably use the gold to hang christmas ornaments.

Alternately, I'd make tassles with them. Maybe take 50 six-inch lengths and tack them at the top, then put some ornament on top so I could hang it from my purse or something.

Hi all,

a quiz: I posted this on another thread, and a wonderfully kind tPFr warned me the ribbons might be fake, as she'd never seen colored ones other than brown.

Oh well. I like them , they're pretty, and I'm not reselling them, 'ya know?

Anyway, could they be real? What are other colors you've seen?

The eBay seller has great feedback and nearly 1000 transactions, and just for snorts and giggles I emailed her asking about the history of the ribbons, where she got them, when, etc. Her descriptions said they were boutique items, and she's in Canada.

I'm just intrigued now!

Someone on Ebay uses them with other ribbons to make tote bags - they look cute.

Yes She made me a christmas stocking! It is sooooooooo cute and held up very well. I still have it. She made it so beautiful. In my favrite color,... Potiron! woth Hermes ribbon all over it. She didn't use the other ribbons just the Hermes ribbon.

I wish I owuld have taken a picture of it but I didnt and it's in storage with my other Christmas junk, so you girls will have to wait til November to see it,... :roflmfao:

oh wow I can't believe there's a thread specifically for H ribbons! How fantastic! well here's one of my ideas: using them to cover the handles of my sanguine Garden Party bag as they were starting to get darker after a while and because the local boutiques do not have twillies in stock at the moment, I thought i'd use them and apparently they can cover both handles plus the edges around the bag! my DH prefers the ribbon than the yellow monsieur montres scarf I previously tied on the handle...:D oh and I also added the miniature eau de merveilles perfume pendant to add a little something to the GP's plain "body"

what do you think guys? :graucho:

Hi everyone! I recently noticed how nice the ribbon is that Hermès uses and was wondering if any of you ladies had some creative ideas as to what to do with your ribbon...I once saw an entire bag weaved of it so I am curious...Post your pics here

I'm currently using four of my many reams of bolduc ribbon to tie back my curtains :D I also wrapped ribbon around the handle of my luggage so I can recognize it at baggage claim. My sister used it for a belt once...works in a pinch. I'm not very creative or crafty, as you can see, but I know other tpfers have used the ribbon to make a bag, cover a cork memo board, other cool DIY stuff.
