Hi all,

I recently bought a pre-loved HAC32 for my wife, its in pretty good condition but looking ahead - does anyone know if spa process is the same for Australia as in US and Europe? Been reading a lot of the pages in this thread which have talked about US and EU, not so much Australia. Do Hermes stores in Melbourne have craftsmen, would things like corner touch up, and handle colouring (for faded handles, if Hermes does this) be done in Australia or bag would be sent to Paris for work to be done? Plus how much is usually charged in Australia?

Thanks in advance! The bag probably doesn't need any work for at least some time of use, but i anticipate there'd be some corner wear or handle fading, given my wife is not the type to wrap the handle with twillies :P

My b35 got a little bit of water damage, nothing horrible but you can see a line around where the water absorbed. Thankfully it's noir so hard to see. It's Clemence leather.

Any idea if H can repair slight water damage and ANY ball park on cost?

No way to say for sure, but spa has definitely been able to address some stains (and Clemence refurbishes well). It should be covered in a standard cleaning which is in the general neighborhood of 350€/$350 USD.
If it's just a line because the water changed the shape of the bag (as opposed to needing recoloring), I actually had this happen to a Noir Clemence bag and it eventually disappeared on its own. After-sales care did tell me they could probably fix it, but in the end it wasn't necessary.

Hello to everyone,
Does anyone know if sales bag (with the S stamp) can be repaired through spa?
Thanks a lot
I don't see why not. The S just indicates it was a sale item, if followed by a code it links it as a sale to a specific employee.
A shooting star that indicates a bag was made by an artisan to keep for themselves that might cause a problem.
The argument being that an artisan should have the skills to repair or spa a bag his or herself.

Dear all, I am thinking about a preloved bag, beautiful condition but missing the leather clochette, keys and lock in gold hardware. Do you think I can get it remade? Thanks so much in advance!
A late response and I did not see any other replies.
These items can be replaced.
It is nice to have a bag complete
BUT
have you noticed how few owners actually use them?
fearing the half-moon mark that can appear caused by rubbing that can appear on the leather.

I am pleased to have them with my HAC and KSaD
but I never use them, primarily for that reason.
Unless you are going to lock the bag for security,
where would you put the lock? on the turnlock it would get in the way of the sangles; hanging from the handle rings - abrasion fear.

I am so happy to have found this thread and am so happy for OP @Rose100

Anyway, I know this is an older thread but does anyone know if this policy of H replacing parts that have been worked on outside of Hermès still remains the same? I was gifted a vintage HAC, all original parts except for the handles so this gives me hope that H spa accepts my HAC to replace back to its original handles.

And how about for edge/resin glazing, does anyone know if H spa will still accept the item if edging/glazing has been worked on by someone outside of H too?

Thank you very much in advance!

You might be raising your hopes. The only way for you to know for sure how Hermes will react will be to take your bag in for assessment. The whole saga of this thread stems from the fact that OP did not take the bag to Hermes in the first place.
I was surprised that Hermes was prepared to undertake any work at all.
Hermes will give you an estimate for the work it considers necessary and is prepared to do. It will be up to you to decide if you want to proceed to with any or all of what is recommended. You could decide to just have the bag returned.
If the bag has to be sent away for evaluation, just accept that and know that you have found out what the situation is for your bag.
You will then be able to make an informed decision. Much better than conjecture from a seven year old story.

Potentially looking to go for my first Hermes spa… but when exactly is a “good time” to go?

For reference, I have a vintage Kelly 28 in ardennes leather I am looking to send in for spa. As far as I know, it has never been to a spa, as the leather is super durable and has held up pretty well and still looks incredible for its age.

But, I am starting to see slightly more noticeable scuffs on the corners now, for example, and some stress marks on the handle. So my question is, is it better to spa now, before these things start to get worse, or use for a bit longer and spa later? What is the best practice approach generally? Or should it be examined by an SA in store first and let them make suggestions?

Thanks!
