Hermes Phone Orders

Well, my H store will need to build an extension onto their storeroom since I will expect them to hold all my stuff for me to pick up on my once yearly trip there. Three bags on order, two bracelets, a pair or two of shoes, and at least a few csmc GMs for A/W...they'll need to hire someone just to keep track of all the stuff I keep adding to the pile over the year!

If this applies to my store, I know my SA will be spitting mad. She was already upset about the no photos by email policy.

How is it possible you are allowed to SO 3 bags in one year? This is truly unfair. Please do not take this as an afront to you- good for you that you have a nice accomodating boutique. I do not understand how Hermes applies their policies- it certainly is not ********ically nor fair.

Maybe just maybe I'll be able to get to kelly 28 or be offered to order. I've shopped primarily the same boutique for 4 years now with a smattering of others only because the old SA would maybe get around to checking inventory. When I found it on my own, ranted at me for going elsewhere -- different story though.

I'm guessing it ain't about cc fees to merchants. It's about the shortage of their inventory and being able to sell to their "local" clientele. I'm also 2 hrs away and disabled so go figure. Gotta wonder why this is just stateside and not worldwide. The resellers span the globe. Are you digging that corporate?

Just got an email today that a new policy will no longer allow international shipping, so apparently this does not just apply to phone orders or emails, but shipping as well.
I ordered a watch last month and they told me to have a good friend/ relative pick it
up on my stead because they cant ship it to me.
So sad.

I've written a letter to both the US and Paris CEOs, outlining the unreasonableness of this policy. I also dropped off the same letter to the SM at my local boutique. Of course, I don't expect a response. Instead of our complaining on here, of which I have been a vocal part, perhaps a concerted letter writing campaign would help. Just a thought.

Another bad news..

They won't be able to do transfers between stores freely as before. All transfers must go through store managers. If your local store is BH and you want something from KOP, the request has to get approved by the store manager.....
This is what my SA just told me.. They want to limit transfers as much as possible and offer customers what s available in their local boutique..
This is getting more and more ridiculous..
That means if your local boutique never has any inventory, such as SCP then you are out of luck, since most of the desirable goods will go to the customers on the waiting lists anyway.....

I have a theory. Purely from a business standpoint, if you're going to keep a physical storefront, it makes sense to ensure you have customers actually coming in. Some H locations have a lot of tourist traffic; some do not. This policy would be one way of insuring that people are coming in and that there is the excitement of purchasing actually going on in the stores. Else, why keep the storefront open and all the SAs on the floor? (And we wouldn't want our SAs to go away; at least I wouldn't.) I'm not dismissing all the other possibilities, or the frustrations. I don't live in a city with a boutique, either, and have made two roadtrips in the last six weeks. Just some thoughts for consideration. I am not in retail, but I do imagine there is a growing tension between brick-and-mortar and online traffic for some retailers, and I also imagine there will be evolving policies/experiments to optimize the situation for all parties.

One is an SO placed four years ago, another is an SO from this year, the third is probably a podium order, if it comes at all. But I hear you on the fairness or lack thereof. My SO has taken four years and counting, while I see tpfers get very similar bags in 18 mos (or less if ordered from FSH). And if this new policy applies to my store, I won't get to buy any of them, so it doesn't really matter how many SOs I'm allowed to place :shrugs:

I was at the BH boutique today and the SA was able to do a charge/send from another boutique without the SM's approval.

I don't know, that is what I heard from Scp and my friend who shops at scp with another SA also was told this... Maybe it's the store or BH hasn't carried out that policy yet.. I know scp tends to be more strict then BH..

I also have an SO oustanding from 3 years ago & one from 18months ago, together with a bag my SM kindly ordered for me at the last podium. If all these bags come in this year (I don't hold out much hope) I would be in the same position with these rules. My SM has been very kind and told me that if this happens, she will deal with Head Office over it but I can have my bags as its not my fault they have been outstanding for so long.

On a separate note, I also get very frustrated when I see that people have received their SO's in just afew months, but I'm still waiting 3 years on for a simple bi colour bag. I don't in any way begrudge anyone, who's order comes in quickly, I just hate the way there is no consistency in Hermes. I do think SO's should be completed in date order, that would be the fairest way to everyone.

Or perhaps a concerted phone campaign. The SA's will be begging management to drop the policy. :graucho:
