Hermès New York City Stores

Are you saying this is unique to Hermes because of the difficulty in obtaining certain things? Because I know SAs of other design houses, e.g. Chanel, are delighted to have new customers who wish to spend money and increase their commissions.
To clarify- unless an SA specifically told me he/ she was comfortable with my giving out their contact info, I would not do so. If they say it’s fine, then of course, it’s fine. However, because of privacy issues, posting someone’s info on a public forum may not be the best approach regardless. Hope this makes sense :flowers:

I would like to build a relationship with one store in NYC (don't really have funds to go all over the place...) would you guys say to choose Meatpacking or Madison? I'll probably make all my H purchases this year with the same SA... and hope to get a k25 or mini kelly II or kelly danse in a neutral color by my 30th bday next year. Thank you!

I know several lucky friends have been able to walk in with an appointment with no relationships to the Sales associates and they were able to score birkins recently (since they have opened) . They also pick up a few small goodies.

that is super lucky! i would ideally like to get it next july though to commemorate my 30th :D think it'd be super memorable to get my first hermes kelly then. :) which store were they at?

The manhasset store also has really friendly SAs if you're looking to build a relationship. They seem to be pretty open to offering B/K/Cs to clients who are willing to spend with them. i walked in several years ago and inquired about getting a constance (they said if i was willing to spend $x in that one visit, i could get one on the spot (the C was in a neutral color)). i think the spend ratio was about .8:1 for the constance and the shopping had to be done in categories other than leather/bags.

Ah yes! I've been to Manhasset most actually as that's the nearest location to me. Haha. But I wasn't sure because I asked my other H shopping friend and she lives right near Americana and she said that she prefers to shop at Madison for more stock. But wow! You were able to walk in and get one! .8:1 huh... guess I'll have to build up that much over time... I'd prefer a mini kelly II... and that's like $8000-9000 I believe? So... about $6000-$7000 before I can score one then... Oooff... this year will be a spendy one. LOL

A mini kelly is probably currently the most in-demand quota bag. Just to give you proper expectations, I would expect those bags to go to looooonnng term clients with many X spending and not as a first quota bag. Miracles happen but be prepared to wait and spend...

acrowcounted is right...mini kelly is really tough to score @ any boutique without significant pre-spending unless you got REALLY lucky. i've never shopped at madison but there's a lot of competition @ a flagship store like that. Really big spenders/clients that can drop $10K+ on a random shopping visit (i have friends that are clients there as well) -- those clients are more likely to get the HG bags in my opinion. I would go with meatpacking, wall street or manhasset.. also, for a mini kelly, spending in home/RTW and other categories will take you much further ..but even then, there could be a long wait.

Thanks so so much. I am aware a mini Kelly II will be difficult. It’s my first choice but I’m also down for a Kelly 25 or Kelly danse. Fingers crossed miracles happen.

Ah gotcha. Thanks for the tips. I mainly like their jewelry, bag charms, and may get a pair of shoes and stuff for my SO in men’s. Hopefully miracles will happen! I’ll check our meat packing then. Seems like Madison will be competitive...

Kelly Danse isn't a quota bag at the Madison store so I guess should be easier as far as I know as I was offered one back in Jan this year but I turned it down (didn't even asked for the color) as I was waiting for my K28 Sellier noir Epsom ghw which I got just before the lockdown in early Mar. Didn't ask about Kelly Danse recently so not sure about stock supply but you should ask about it. Would be much easier than K25 or mini Kelly.

That's great news! Do you happen to know if the Birkins your friends scored are of popular sizes like B30 or B25? And in popular colors like noir or other neutral colors?
