I would love some insight from you all on my situation : ) Sorry for the rambling!

I have been shopping with my Madison SA since October of last year (I was working with an SA at MP, but he ended up moving to a different location and stopped answering my texts, so I decided to move on to someone perhaps less busy/more interested in working with me). I really like my SA now and enjoy shopping with him.
I purchased several items between October-December last year, but took a hiatus until just this month as I am currently using my funds on something else personal, which I did tell my SA about. I started shopping again this month as my SA reached out very randomly after months of no contact offering me a grizzly mini lindy that I had mentioned previously being interested in. I declined because the color wasn't for me, but made an appointment and purchased two items when I saw him. I was so happy her remembered me and my wants : )
To be very frank with you all, I am not a big spender. I spend around $1K-$1.5K per visit when I go and my total spend with this new SA is around $4.5K (not much at all, I know). There are many things on my wish list (rodeos, twillys, shoes, bathing suits, etc.) but I do not have the funds to spend thousands each visit. I can probably spend around $1.5K every two months. I can spend $14K on a B or K though but that might just be me being naughty with my money, lol.

Question Time - How likely/unlikely is it that I could get an offer after a few years working with him at Madison? I am in no rush as I do have a B25, but I guess my real question is, am I delusional for thinking I could get a bag if my 'ratio' takes years to achieve? If I don't spend a certain amount of money within like two years, does it just reset and I never get considered for a bag? Or do SA's look at spend over a full relationship with their customers for those who don't spend 3x the price of a quota in 6 months...

Hopefully I am making some sort of sense. I know Madison is extremely competitive and I am up against VVVIPs, VIPS, and high spenders, but a girl can dream. Appreciate any and all thoughts!
It’s hard to say with the current popularity of the brand but in the past, stores still appreciated the slow and steady spender. Sure, you’ll never be offered two top quota bags every year like the big spenders get but I could definitely see a B30/K28 offer every 2-3 years at your spending level if consistent.

are you against buying resale?
At the moment yes because there are so many things I want from the brand (shoes, home items, fashion jewelry, twillies, rodeos, etc) and am in no rush to purchase a specific bag. I enjoy the long game, the excitement of hopefully one day being offered something... I just hope that a long game can be fruitful even if it takes years...
: )

I would consider that your spending is very healthy in my opinion. Some people here will say that your spending is too little since some other people easily drop at least $6,000-10,000 in each visit easily (especially in the Madison maison). But, all varies and what really matters is your relationship with the SA/store. I think you can follow your suit and still can get a QB.

Do not automatically assume that the pre-spend ratio has to be 1-4 per 1 QB. If the store and SA appreciate your loyalty, the bag will come to you eventually. I think people here (including myself) tend to spend too quickly to get a QB too soon. Some people on here exaggerate/emphasize/instigate that the pre-spend should be least 3x (so that it should be fair to them, maybe?). But, it was not the case for me, and I also know of at least 2 other TPFers who spent less than 1:1 on average and still got multiple QBs. It all varies by individuals.
Thank you for your response!! I appreciate you taking the time to weigh in : )
I think I do get very caught up in what other's spend, especially since I know I can never compete with those who can spend $5K+ a visit.
I will keep doing what I am doing and hopefully one day be offered something exciting!

Slow and steady probably describes the majority of clients, even at madison. Regular spend and not being impatient or annoying counts for a lot :) good luck

I would also advise to make yourself familiar with a few SAs. Don't shop with them of course but learn some names, faces and try to establish a rapport. If it may take you a few years to get your bag you'll want to be familiar with another SA or two in case the one you're working with leaves. It'll be a lot easier(and less daunting) to start shopping with someone that you know and who knows you.

Great idea! I always try to smile but will make sure to make an effort when possible! Thank you for your response 🫶🏻🙏🏻

Thanks for sharing! May I ask how does one get invited? Taking out the celebrities and influencers...were the guests clients of the NYC stores?
