Really? Where? Hearsay is not factual information.

ETA older posts are not quite relevant because experienced members here have said that Hermes demand has gone up exponentially in the last couple of years.

Getting information from forums is not the same as facts. Besides, how does one know that in the example that was given, other variables were equal (ie store location, whether it was someone’s first birkin/kelly, first one of the year?).

Luxury shopping and probably especially Hermes is not build on a fair business model and it’s not like healthcare that they need to focus on equal access. These are givens and if one is focused on exact algorithms and concrete equations, frustration would ruin the entire experience.
One of the reasons why Hermès does not blatantly say there's a pre-spend.

Just try getting a bag from Hermès after you filed a lawsuit with them.
A LAWSUIT FOR WHAT???? I DON'T GET IT. I WAS ASKING A QUESTION BECAUSE I DID NOT QUITE UNDERSTAND. IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO HELP, JUST STAY QUIET. THANKS.

PS. @papertiger - THESE THREADS ARE NOT RELEVANT TO THE NYC STORES. PLEASE DELETE OR REMOVE. THANKS.

I was speaking with a few H Madison Avenue clients recently. Just because one of us got a coveted B25 under her circumstances, does not mean i will. Part of this is bc some of our Madison SAs are not in Leather (and some are). At Madison, unlike other NA stores, this seems to matter. And, of course there are a multitude of other factors. At any rate, when any of us here on this thread discuss the circumstances of obtaining certain offers at Madison, it really should not be taken as a definitive rule, but rather a general guidepost. Not sure why consumer protection law violations (think defective product), were brought up at all, but they are usually addressed by class action lawsuit , and they are entirely irrelevant to Hermes NY or elsewhere.

ETA: agree with @nikotama and @CTLover re equal access and prespend points.

It's very weird. But I do not have a record of keeping track of prespend. As I mentioned in another thread, I got my C18 Noir GHW (which some of us do not consider a QB) after purchasing a pair of sneakers and one lip balm. The offer was less than 2 weeks after my very first purchase. Then I was not offered anything for another year.
Oh wow !!! It took me 3 d*** years to get my first quota bag ) I was almost give up, it’s good to know! Thank you!
I think once you get your first QB, the offers will keep coming. It's just a matter of time.

I’ve said before that based on what I’ve seen and experienced at Madison, bag offers often involve a bit of luck. Several TPF members have posted over the past year about walking in to Madison with no prior history and getting a QB. The store management is not in the business of hoarding bags. They are there to sell as many items as they can, as expeditiously as possible in order to meet their sales targets. In the event that a bag is sitting in the store room unspoken for and a random walk in client asks for a bag in those specs, there is a high likelihood that that client would be offered the bag sitting unreserved in storage. Of course this usually applies to normal bags, not rare, limited edition bags. How often does a QB sit unreserved? Probably not that often. But it does happen.

Oh wow curious what was the final prespend ratio? It's for 25 I assume?
I’m petite so all my bags in wishlist are either mini sth or 20,25. If counted non-leather items, it think I’m not even at 1:1, I only buy what I can afford which are some accessories, belt, shoes, fashion jewelry which mean I’m definitely not a big spender lol. But I have been offered several non Quota bags in those 3 bitter sweet years so I mean I can’t complain. It’s like my SA can get me any bag in any combo of hardware and color I like except BKC lol

Need the members help for my current situation:

I have spent $35k in the last 3 months with my SA. In that time, I have been purchased a Birkin Shadow Clutch and a Della Cavalleria Elan which are both included as part of the $35k total. The rest has gone for jewelry, shoes, etc.

I am waiting for a Birkin or Kelly in 25/28. Can someone give me a sense of where I stand in terms of my prespend ratio? Have I met it? Should I be more aggressive in asking for my QB?

Three months is a short amount of time in Hermes relationship world. I would not expect a quota bag in this limited amount of time without exceptional spend. The fact that you got two bags in that time, one a LE clutch, is a great sign but also ate up some goodwill. You've spent over $15k on bags so your actual non-bag prespend is under $20k which is less than 2:1. Plus the fact that you've purchased other bags on that prespend and your short tenure probably doesn't put you too high on the list for a quota bag. There are no official prespend numbers to hit; spending a certain amount doesn't trigger a QB offer. Its all about having the most favorable profile and relationship vs other clients when the bag you want becomes available to your SA. Factors include: length of time as a customer, time since last bag purchase, ease of personality, total non-bag spend, who else is waiting for the same bag and what their profiles look like, number and value of any returned merchandise, types and quantity of other bags purchased, etc. Times are unprecedentedly difficult right now and I believe H corporate is holding back bags after the valentine's day/CNY blow outs last month to see how the economy goes before front loading all of their annual revenue into the first quarter of the year. I personally know quite a few longer term clients with nearly six figure prespend who are still waiting for their first bag of 2024 so unfortunately I believe the line in front of you is currently long and strong. I would not recommend being "more aggressive" but would encourage you to be patient and continue shopping in person with your SA and making non-bag purchases.

Thank you for the very comprehensive explanation.

Everything that acrowcounted said. You have been fortunate with the bags offered to you (especially the shadow) and that also sets you back timeline wise with another bag offer as they know you’ve purchased two in a very short amount of time in Hermes time. I definitely wouldn’t “push” your SA. I would guesstimate from your history thus far that you’re looking at a 6-12 month wait while you buy other things you like along the way.

In addition to my previous message, you also didn’t mention which store. Madison will be the most competitive with the most stock so luck plays a larger factor there. The others are more laid back.

Going into the store matters, so drop in when you can.

From the bag side, you will most likely be offered a 28 Kelly out of what you listed. The demand for 25cm Birkins and Kellys is very high.
