All that being said, if you haven’t already spent much in CT, I’d recommend moving to Madison. They will surely have more B30s on order and much more product available around the store as well. Yes, there are also more clients but for a B30, you’d be, presumably, a mid sized fish in a big pond asking for a mid sized bag. For a fixed spend/relationship, Madison will likely be much quicker (though I do strongly agree with 880 that the Madison was blowing smoke saying you’d get one quickly, they have no way of knowing that and it’s definitely not a promise or guarantee, just lip service).
Thank you for your helpful advice. Follow-up questions: how much is much enough in CT? I already spent 10k+, which included a non-quota bag. I heard that leather items do not count in Madison. Do they count in CT? Again, thank you so much for reading and responding my posts.

How long is a string? $10k including a bag likely isn’t even close to enough at any US store, however given you are already this far in, I’d be tempted to stay true to CT at least through a first quota bag. There are no black and white answers to anything Hermes. Recommend you read some of the other threads in the shopping subforum, such as prespend ratios, maintaining a relationship, and the CT thread.

Thank you! I have read some of the posts, but will dig into them a bit more.

Also, I am concerned about the SA at Greenwich because I ordered my item via the same SA at Greenwich and know that my item is now in the store for pick up, but the SA has not yet contacted me. (Isn't it a sign that the SA may not get what I want anytime soon anyway?) Can you please give me some advice?

Thank you!
My SA doesn’t always contact me when an item I ordered arrived. I’d get an email from the inventory supervisor stating so. Then I’d contact my SA to set-up an appointment to pick it up. I typically do that if I plan to shop as well. If not I would just go online and book a “pick up order” appointment.

Thank you! This is great to know. I may have been over-thinking about it....

Does anyone have a SA contact for Hermes in NYC. I went to the boutique in Boston for the hermes evelyne gm in black and so rude and would not even let me look at one. I do have a Birkin so I’m not just window shopping.

They probably didn’t have one in stock and certainly not for sale to a walk-in. Assuming they were reasonably nice about it, that’s not rude it’s just the way Hermes inventory is. I highly doubt any NYC store currently has one sitting in the back room right this instant either.

Anyone going to the men’s RTW show next month?
I’m so sad DH and I will miss this. But, he was like, why that location? We’re not hipsters :)

@Jill N, my SA told me that madison is not ordering large sized bags (for example, a 31 bolide is now considered large, and there was only one of them from Jan- April in the 1923 Bolide’s centenary year). So I agree with @acrowcounted in that Madison most likely has not seen an Evelyne 33 or even many PMs in quite some time. It seems NYers are only asking for TPMs. There are comparison threads with plenty of action shots for GMs on TPF if you do a search.

When you are next in NY, the newly opened Madison has a very helpful concierge desk that will pair you with an SA. I tend to wander around a new store and see if I like anything enough to try on. Someone will eventually approach. Madison SAs tend to be a bit reticent which can be interpreted as unwelcoming, but I would not say any are ill mannered.

@greenwich01 , you can read the prespend thread (it will pop up on a search) but generally anywhere from 2X-5X plus. There are exceptions, but if you’ve already spent 1X in your location, it’s up to you if you want to start over. From my reading these threads, in the US, prespend seems to exclude leather and yield best results with RTW, FJ, or Home.

Of course an SA will order for their clients, but they are happiest when a prospective client is sincerely interested in purchasing items currently on the floor. IMO that is the bedrock of a great relationship. Well, plus being easy going and patient and generally pleasant.

Did your sa mention anything about the bolide 25? I wonder how many do they get in a quarter.
Yes, he mentioned that a substantial amount 25s and mini bolides were sold in that timeframe
He was backing up his view that there were almost no larger sizes, and there were quite a few smaller ones.
However, I didn’t think to ask how many were ordered in a quarter :(

Hi all! I’m newish to Hermès shopping and have very newbie questions similar to those which have been answered a million times already (I’ve been lurking for months before finally making an account!) but would love some perspective esp. from other NY shoppers:

1 - did you ‘shop around’ for SAs when you first started shopping (or when your last SA left)? How?

2 - how long does it take to make an appointment with your SA via email/text?

3 - how long did it take for you to finally feel like you and your SA had a good rhythm and you guys “got” each other?

For context - I clicked with the first SA I met early this year. I felt like we matched both in terms of taste and personality! Sadly I had so much unexpected travelling this year, so I’ve only seen her 3 times. When we’re together we have fun (though I think she is still testing/teaching me a bit by sharing “fun” work stories like “omg these tourists with no purchasing history came looking for a croc birkin! can you believe it!”) but it has been so hard to get hold of her for appointments. I only text her about when to next see her and still get slow or no responses.

I’m definitely not expecting my SA to respond to me right away, I just have no gauge if this is to be expected or if we don’t actually mesh that well. Im not ‘chasing a quota bag’ (doesnt fit my life or my style at the moment but am curious about the picotin and lindy, and maybe my mind will change in a few years - and the SA knows because that was my answer when she asked me about bags) so I’m really just looking for a smooth, solid SA who will eventually learn my style and introduce me to hermes items that fit me when we meet (and maybe contact me first to come in when she sees items she thinks I’ll like).

If it’s any help - I’ve shopped mostly silks (my true hermes love) and one fine jewelry piece, and have interest in watches and RTW too (unfortunately they didnt have my exact wants at the time and she didn’t offer to look around other stores for them).

Let me know if I should be posting these in the relationships thread, but was wondering if the timing piece would be more appropriate here given we’re all working with NY SAs.

Sounds like a normal healthy newish H relationship to me! Have fun!
