I was just at Madison today. As sleepyjae said, they are renovating. If you want scarves, enamels belts and shawls, go elsewhere. The teeny tiny temp store they have 4 doors down is AWFUL. Too cramped. Go to wall street for those items. The bags, clothing and shoes jewelry are still good at Madison.

Madison for leathergoods, Wall St for excellent service. Ask for Alexey...very kind, patient, informative, and cute :blushing: I bought my "Parure de Sables" cashmere shawl and tiny Ulysse there. They had a very nice small Etoupe Kelly I tried on.

Don't forget, should you go to Madison, to go up two doors to the scarf store (heed the advice of previous TPFers who advise against going at rush hours; I foolishly went on the afternoon of Valentine's Day and nearly suffocated), and also cross Madison to go to the men's store. I tried on the ginormous Evelyne and nearly bought it, and also tried on the Steve McQueen and Alfred bags (love Steve... Alfred not so much). Word to the wise: if you are perfume shopping at the main Madison store and they're out of something, chances are the men's store has it. They have the Hermessences, Jardins and Colognes ranges along with the gent's fragrances like Rocabar, Bel-Ami, etc

long time reader here, i'm just wondering that since all you guys were saying there are no waiting lists now, so if i happen run into any H stores that have birkins available for sale, i can grab it on the spot? btw i resides in nyc, how often does they stock up on birkins? thanks

insomnianyc, yes, that's right there is no OFFICIAL waiting list anymore for the birkins and kellys. If you walk into the store and there are some on the shelf, then it's yours for the taking. The NY store on Madison is the flagship in the US. Therefore they get a lot more stuff than us provincial peeps in SF. I think they get deliveries twice a day 3-4 times a week. But who knows what they get. Also, they do give birkin dibbs to good customers that they know are waiting for certain colors or leathers. But, there are stories of people getting lucky, or an SA might take a liking to you and show you one. Good luck.

I too went to Paris for a stopover, then a few weeks after to NYC for vacation.

No luck in Paris for b or k.

At Madison, the SA told me I would get bumped up on the list if I buy a few bags. In case you love other bags of H, this may give you a better chance.

As for me, I only got some accessories in the end.
