Thank you so much for the advice! I am literally stressing out what to do for my next step. Let’s say I want to drop in to get a card holder the next time with another SA, won’t it be weird to mention to the new SA my wishlist bags since I am already on the waitlist through through another SA? Also, am I imagining things but the SAs on the basement/bag floor (Madison) tend to be less approachable than the other floors?

I find shopping at Hermes a very bizarre and stressful experience with all these unwritten rules and whatnot. I miss the simpler days of shopping at Chanel with my amazing SA lol. Too bad Chanel quality is no longer up to par to justify the spending.

A) you’re stressing out over retail shopping.
B) There are no waitlists
C) Madison is extremely busy. Just be a normal person looking around and then start chatting with an SA. If you don’t like them, move on and try another day with someone else. The first SA you spoke with likely will not remember you based on the amount of customers that they speak with.

Thank you for putting this into perspective:)

Does anyone know if MP has a terminal
for online orders? Hoping my SA can help get some .com inventory that I don’t think they have (im relatively new to this location)!
TIA :flowers:
Yes they do have separate terminal for placing online orders. I’ve done that multiple times with my SA and never an issue unless it’s out of stock online too then my SA has to do the worldwide search for me if I really want that piece.

TYSM! my appt is tomorrow so glad I will be able to score some things whether they're in store or not.

There’s jewelry trunk show event tomorrow! My appt is at 5pm with my amazing SA. Hope you get what you’re looking for
Oh man...I am jealous (not that I am in town). What is the protocol for invites to things like this? I just started at Madison (and my SA has taken an extended vacay anyway so I haven't been chatting) and would love some tips.

Hello all! I need some advice and have many questions. I don’t know if this is the right thread but since I’m based in NYC, I’ll post here.

My first question is, I purchased a wallet back in 2015. Will that purchase still be in the Hermès records/part of my purchase history?
Secondly, I need some advice. I plan on ultimately purchasing a quota bag. But, I know a relationship must be built with SA. I do not know where should I built my history though. Should I concentrate on the Hermès men’s store? But if so, will they have the B/K in stock? Or should I build up my shopping history at both the women’s and men’s store? I browsed through the men’s bags but I’m not too interested in most of the bags.
Thirdly, what is your experience at the Hermès NYC boutiques? Which stores are earlier to build up purchase history? And, do the Hermès men’s store carry Evelyne/Jsypiere? How is the stock for E/J currently?
I know it’s a handful of questions but your replies are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

There are 3 Hermes locations in NYC (4 if you count Manhasset). I can only speak for Madison and MP, but only Madison has Mens/Women in different locations. This also won’t be a problem for much longer as Madison is moving and combining the two stores later this year. My SA is based in the Madison women’s location, but has always said that if I were interested in mens items, I would just have to give him advanced notice to go over there. IMHO, it’s less about the store (though Madison is a flagship and likely sees more stock) and more about consistency and your relationship with your SA.

Each store has its pros/cons and will have different experiences for each person. I started shopping at MP and it was fine, but I randomly went into Madison one week, met my current SA who I adore, and switched to exclusively shop with him now. Stock is low across the board nowadays, but I like shopping at Madison because they usually have more stock.

TBH, I’m not quite sure what’s the protocol for the invites either. I’m still a newbie ish myself lol :biggrin:Maybe some of TPFers will chime in.
I’ve been invited to private clients sale back in February and that was my first invite and I was offered my first QB and this trunk show jewelry will be my second invite ( I do have some jewelry and watch on hold for me for the event) I’ve been with my SA for about 4 months. And I’ve bought various categories throughout the store. Me and my DH have a really good relationship with our SA even if it’s been such a short period with her. Everything I asked for, I got it from her. SAs can invites anyone of their clients to the event maybe? Not so sure. Sorry I couldn’t be much of a help.. maybe ask your SA when h/she is back?

One was in 2021, the other pre-pandemic. They are close friends, so I am clear they didn’t have a purchase history in that specific store. I just feel very discouraged as I’ve been at this a long time - years - and have had no offers or any luck whatsoever.

Did they get quota bags or just other types of bags? My friend also got her p18 in the grey neutral without any purchases. she got it summer 2021. but she shortly after my SA told me nothing is left. not sure of scarcity cause i haven't been looking for p's *shrugg* but i'm pretty sure they try their best. it all depends on color and bag combo~

Do you know where will the new store be? And, when will the relocation happen?
