I was over at MP over the weekend and SA said stock is slowly trickling in. Other than that, if you're not looking for a bag to buy off the bat, other items are usually orderable if you let your SA know your wishlist prior to arrival. I did a little shopping and they didn't have what I wanted in stock - glenan double tour in rose sakura & bleu lin - specific twilly print, specific belt buckle and she was able to online order everything for me to go in to see for next time. Also - yes...better to text SA for shoes to order them for you to try on in stores if you have a specific style/size in mind - because they do tend to be low in stock!

Hi! New to this thread-- I wanted to visit the store this week and ask about a lindy or picotin. Is it possible to get one as a first time buyer at the store?

My friend was able to get a p18 in a grey neutral last summer. I originally thought it was p22 but she confirmed it is a p18. They are also coming out with a p12 next year called picotin mini for small bag lovers!

Question re: purchase history in the New York stores. Does my SA and SM take all purchases ever made in the US, or city, into account, including online purchases, when considering a client for a quota bag? Or is it only purchases made within a specific store m, from one specific SA, within a certain period of time (one year, for example)? I have a substantial purchase history for several years now and my SA has known my wishes, but never had an offer. I’m just wondering if all of my purchases have to be with one SA within a short period of time? TIA!

They only care about purchases made at that specific store. Your SA needs to nominate you for a bag so it’s best to give her incentive to do so by being strictly loyal and buying only from her. In addition, purchases made elsewhere can actually work against you as they see it as missed sales and it becomes easier for them to tell themselves “why should we be the ones to give her a coveted bag? The other stores can use their limited bag stock on her instead.”

Thanks for the clarity. This is confusing to me as I also have two friends who walked in and were offered a bag with no purchase history.

When? And were you actually there? If it was in 2020 then that was a very strange time for the company and bags were being offered to everyone. Now, however, the bag shortage is the worst it has ever been and even long term clients are spending crazy amounts and still waiting for offers.
My favorite recent social media exchange went something like this- “I can’t believe this! I just got a b25 from my SA without any purchase history!” “No way! That’s awesome! How long were you with that store?” “Two years! Best SA ever!” Hmmm…

One was in 2021, the other pre-pandemic. They are close friends, so I am clear they didn’t have a purchase history in that specific store. I just feel very discouraged as I’ve been at this a long time - years - and have had no offers or any luck whatsoever.

Maybe just talk to your SA and ask what your chances are or getting an item from your wishlist this year? I think as long as you are respectful and not demanding it’s fine to be candid

Well if you are shopping at various stores and online, that’s definitely not going to help. I’m not sure which bag you are hoping for but if it’s a smaller sized B or K, it’s not unheard of to have clients spending upwards of $30k-50k+ before seeing any such offer. In the past, there were the extremely rare but legit stories of someone getting offered a less desireable bag as a walk in but since the middle of 2021, it’s basically unheard of. All you can do is stay patient and loyal to one SA at one store and continuing purchasing items that you love if there are any still on your list. Good luck!

Lol right. How are you with an SA for two years having bought nothing. :confused1:

SAs in the US earn commissions on every sale they make except quota bags. They get zero commission for QBs. The commission percentage varies depending on the category. Non quota bags have the lowest commission percentage of all the categories. In some countries, the SAs are paid by salary only with no commissions so it helps to understand how your SA earns his/her compensation. Your purchases made at other stores and online are of zero benefit to your home store SA. Even though you may have spent a substantial sum overall with Hermes, it sounds like only a portion of those purchases was made through your home store SA so the rest of your purchases don’t get factored into your home store SA and SM calculations when they decide on which clients to allocate a QB to. There has been talk of Hermes linking worldwide sales but to the best of my knowledge that hasn’t happened yet. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong on this. So at this point your SA can see only your US purchases (both in stores and online) and, as acrowcounted said, there is less incentive for your home store SA to go to bat for you with the SM if she/he sees that you are spending a substantial amount elsewhere. It’s one thing if you’ve asked your SA for something and she/he has been unresponsive or has told you that he/she cannot get the item for you. Some SAs may tell their clients if you see xx online or in another store go ahead and get it because xx item may be very hard to get especially in this time of historically low stock. If that happens then buying xx elsewhere won’t count against you in your home store. Your purchase history with your home store SA doesn’t get ignored after a calendar year. It’s not a specific formula, at least in the US.

I think they probably hit the timing just right as per @acrowcounted
I have a solid relationship with my SA, have spent at least 3:1 — but I don’t actually keep specific track down to the last iota. I have taken one B30; have been offered ofhers; . and, I am waiting for the right B25.

if you compare yourself to anyone else, you will go crazy. Hope you get something you love soon!

@DoggieBags, the way I think my SA explained it to me it was sales goals not commission (someone else can come along and correct both of us lol) but I agree with you in all other respects
:D

It’s not just the total revenue generated. I gather the mix of what they sold is part of their sales goals. Selling $100 worth of non quota bags is less desirable than selling more of a mix such as $25 RTW, $25 jewelry, $50 leather goods.

I really laughed out loud when i see this. Because when i was a newbie to hermes, and youtube was my friends. Every single person posted when they got a bag was saying this. It made me doubt myself as a person for a longest time why my SA doesnt love me :)). Just like above, best is to not compare yourself with anyone at all. Even friend, my friend told me she got offered k25 with little purchases too. But the more i talked about items i want with her the more i realized she actually bought good items (watch, ring, blankets) to gift her parents and sisters and all so she doesnt consider that buying for herself. So it’s not 100-% true. Lol
