Hello.
I want to ship a bag from US to Malay. Has any one have any experiences with this? Is it safe to ship to Malay? I recently read that Malay customs no longer tax on leather goods, is this true? Also, I am not concerned on paying customs, but more so on the safety of the bag reaching the destination. Are bags "easily" lost these days? Any insight will help.

TIA!

I recommend you use reliable courier like DHL, FedEx, UPS, TNT.. I always ship from US to Malaysia and so far no problem.. I haven't ship expensive item, so I assume you want to ship Hermes bag which is very very expensive.. as far as I know, every parcel exceed RM500, entitled to customs tax but it depends on type of product too.. I've read in a blog, the blogger stated that handbag kena tax around 10-15% of the declared value.. good luck to you! Malaysia boleh! :D

Not hermes but related (since Hermes has equestrian stuff and this relates to tack). I shipped a saddle from Europe to Malaysia and was taxed 10% of the invoice price. Goods were compounded and retained at JB customs until I went to pay the tax. There is a tax on leather goods hence my (leather) saddle was taxed...would think it would also apply to leather bags? All the best!

So far, no problems with shipping goods from US to KL, but make sure it's insured. Handbags will be taxed 10% but jewellery, none.
Recently at the KLIA H store and SA reconfirmed the rule of buying watch with Lindy. CDCs came in beginning of Oct and sold out almost instantly. Saw some leather garden party.
