That's what I thought, too. I will say that if I dry it quickly, it's not an issue, but I missed a spot - twice. The blisters really aren't noticeable, but I was surprised. Hopefully someone else will share their experience, as my next bag PO might be Epsom (or box, which does not fare well with water, either)!

Togo..

I have used mine in both snow and rain storms. I love the leather to death but I have also used my plastic cover bag the times it was pouring down. I don't care about what people think and sometimes the bag has to be protected. I am very careful when I am near buildings as the rain drops from there can be "dirty".

Ps. I have also used my box Kelly in the rain and I quickly dried off the stains. However I ALWAYS use a cover when I take out my box Kelly in pouring rain.

We've had so much rain here recently, that I'm about to start on an Ark! I was out yesterday doing pre-Easter errands carrying my Chevre de Coromandel Kelly. I had an umbrella but the rain was torrential. I just carried a small wash-cloth size micro fiber cloth in my bag and wiped my bag when I got into the stores. Worked perfectly and no hard to my CDC Kelly!

Thanks, please do. I purchased it at the Wall Street boutique about 3 years ago. It was in for repair and cleaning this winter (the turn lock post came off and it needed a bit of restitching, I am admittedly hard on the wallet) and they didn't do anything about the blisters.

I would only avoid water with Epsom, I've had that blister.

has anyone else had a problem with epsom? thought it was ok in the rain-

I was literally out in the rain for 2 hours with my Epsom Evelyne so it was thoroughly wet. When I finally got home, I wiped down the bag and it was good as new.

I didn't mention it, as is wasn't that bothersome to me, and over time it's gotten even less noticeable. BTW, I've posted a photo in Doc's thread. Thank you. :smile1:

hi T. congrats on the evelyne. did you treat it for rain protection? good to know that with a wipe down the bag will be fine.

nope, the bag wasn't treated with anything.

Great thread!!!! My daughter is off to University of Washington this fall and I was convinced that I would not be able to travel to Seattle with my Hermes handbag due to the rainy weather. Now I have peace of mind knowing I can bring my handbag and not worry:smile1:
