Hermes Instant Gratification...is this too much $$$?

I have always felt that the question is "How much is worth to YOU?". If instant gratification is what you're after (I can relate to that) and it doesn't break the bank - then why not? No mind games to play with any SAs, no waiting, no uncertainty. Just wait for FedEx the next day and voila!
I find the Amex price a tad high and agree that you can get the same instant gratification by dealing with one or more of the recommended resellers and thus start building a relationship directly with them.

chocoloate togo with gold is so pretty, i have seen Sandia sell chocolate preloved ones a lot, if you want to get a great price be patient, one will come your way if you keep your eyes open.:smile1:

Hello all
I am sorry to butt into your post but I do not know how to start a new thread!!!!!

I am new to the forum and today, may get my very first birkin
its a 35 cm gold togo with silver pallidum hardware. The price (from a friend of a friend) is 6000. Is this too much??? I am really in need of some advice asap before I make a big mistake I may regret.
thanks your your help

Forgot to mention, the bag was purchased in 2004 and it is in absolutely perfect condition. I think she kept it in the box the whole time and never used it

If its authentic, always a big IF, then its a great deal. If it's not, then its a colossal mistake. You really should post pix on the Authenticate this Hermes thread before purchasing. Hermes comes with boxes in Chinatown too.

upload your pics to a site like flickr or photobucket and then copy and paste the links in the authenticate this hermes thread. Authenticating in the store is tricky because if they don't know you from Adam, they will politely shoo you away

Interesting.
Well Ive been in there to buy belts and scarfs but that is about it.
We both called them to find out if they would authenticate and were told yes. Do you know if they authenticate on the spot or do you have to leave the bag?
We were told to bring the bag in and see the craftsman. He is just sitting there right in the store talking to customers.

Then you're in luck, jump on the chance while they are feeling generous. I've seen the opposite happen while in the store. The craftsman's seal of approval would put your mind well at ease. Good luck!

So, will the craftsman tell us right then and there?
I am so nervous. I never met the seller and I don't want a huge to-do,
Just would love to walk into the store, have them say yes and leave.

I hope they live up to their statement on the telephone. It would be so upsetting if I can't get this done!

Just curious, how much would this bag retail for if bought today?
thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it

Maggie, the same bag new would probably cost about $7500 plus tax and they don't really depreciate that much over the years so you are getting a good deal as long as it's in good condition.
