So I hear there is a cocktail event prior to the actual exhibition; anyone attending???
I talked to SA the other day and he didnt know anything about cocktail reception. Any idea on which date it will be held? The actual event is free and open to General public.

Hi chica727,
It's my understanding that the cocktail reception for media & VIPs will be on the evening of Sept 20th, prior to the exhibition's actual opening on the 21st.

A couple of pictures form the "Hermes at Work" exhibit today.
I only took a few photos and realized I didn't get any pictures of the jewellery, but they were spectacular. Seeing the woman setting all of the diamonds painstakingly by hand was something else! It was great being able to speak with the invividual artisans and ask them questions about their craft. The woman doing the bags and the silk screening table were by far the busiest. I was fascinated by the work the lovely Japanese woman was doing with the porcelain. I'll never look at one of those ashtrays the same way again
I was surprised to find out it takes the scarf artisan only 45 minutes to hand roll and sew the edges of a 90cm carré. I don't know why, but I thought it would be longer.

If anyone is in Vancouver, the event runs until the 25th. There were plenty of non-Hermes fans there but I'm pretty sure they may have just made a few new ones. My friend that I went with wasn't really that interested in going but once we got inside and saw some of the craftspeople doing their thing, she didn't want to leave
We went up to the boutique afterwards and spent far too much time inspecting all the porcelain pieces.

Thank you for describing the event and taking the pics. I love looking at the artisans at work, hope I can attend a similar kind of event some day. The porcelain looks amazing and how interesting to see the Japanese woman at work. [emoji173]️
