Is it hard to come by Roulis in duty free Hermes? I am flying out of Heathrow T3 next month. Does Heathrow carry other prominent bags like other boutiques such as Kelly?

I check the heathrow T3 store from time to time - they don't seem to have a lot (of bags) in store but if you know someone that works there you can ping them in advance and they may reserve it for you. Did it with a Jypsiere one time!

Thank you for the pointer. I don't know any SA there. I read on heathrow website that they provide personal shopper services. Would that be sufficient to get a bag put aside?

Or is there anyone here that can share their SA contact?

TIA

Fellow TPFers, Can I shop at H store paying dutyfree price on arrival at Frankfurt Airport? I will be leaving EU via train so I won’t Hv the chance to shop on departure.

Thanks in advance.

Yes and no. The airport might allow you to do so but the airlines won't like you to do so and it might create problems with your luggage sitting around. FRA is not small, depending on which gate you're coming in from, it might take 30+ minutes just to get to the stores. Then you have to come back to go through the border patrol and to the designated baggage claim. One thing to keep in mind, you can only collect your tax refund when you're leaving EU. If you're not leaving from FRA, that might be challenging to collect the full amount.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

It’s tricky bcos we still can’t figure out how to claim our tax refund since we r leaving Frankfurt/EU via train to Lucerne. I have posted at Detax thread for help..

FRA duty free H is different from other stores or other duty free stores. You pay the full amount then they give you refund at the store after you get the stamp from the custom. You can treat that transaction as standard tax free purchase in Germany as well though if you're not going back to FRA in the relatively near future.

Thanks for the info, it seems that I will definitely Hv no time to drop by H n do the tax refund w/o being late to pick up my luggage.

Hello everyone,
My husband is currently in Shanghai for business and was wondering of whether it is worth it to buy at the airport Hermes store in Shanghai compared to US price. Also, what type of availability is there in store for silver jewellry and horn jewellry? Thanks.

I haven't been to that store, but H China stores are known to be expensive. There is a Shanghai thread somewhere, possibly post in there to see if someone has been to the airport store. Not sure how price is compared to US. I dont know about availability in that store but i know in other H airport stores I have observed decent availability for jewelry.

If you are talking about Pudong airport there's no H store, the only H store is Hong qiao airport.
and they DO NOT offer any tax free purchase on leather goods, so which means it's the same as if you shop anywhere in China.
the price is notoriously expensive, prepare to pay higher than US price. Hongqiao airport store occasionally have constance available, but you still need to buy "something else" in order purchase it.......so you can do the math and see if it's worthwhile to shop there
