Hermes in the DUTY FREE, airport list!

Hi, I would appreciate any input on the following.
I will be flying in and out of FCO (Rome Airport) enroute to a Mediterranean cruise.
I was planning to get to the airport early on the day of departure so that I could hit the duty free Hermes store in the airport but I have read that US passengers are funneled through a different terminal (T5)??
Would I be better off shopping upon arrival, is that possible? Or, is it possible to get to the H store in T1 or T3 from T5, that is, if I have enough time.

Hi,I flew into Rome T3 this June but was not allowed into the transit area where the shops are. Only departing/transit passengers are.
Until last fall, there were two Hermes stores at Fiumicino, one of them in the terminal where flights to the US leave. I haven't been there since then, so am not sure whether this has changed.
Just checked on Fiumicino's website and it looks like the store in boarding area G from where flights to the US leave is still there (by Gate 11 and 12). http://www.adr.it/web/guest/fiumici...es?back=/web/guest/fiumicino-risultati-negozi
From T5, US passengers are taken to boarding area G by bus. Here is the map

Good luck shopping. Odd thing happened when we flew out of Milan, my wife got CDC bracelets that were listed and priced at EUR 870 which were same as city price but without the possibility of tax refund. You might want to check that this is not so with Rome? Or maybe the staff at the Milan airport made a mistake?

I did spend some time living in Rome over the past few years and was flying back to the US regularly, so I've had quite a few occasions to shop at the Hermes store at Fiumicino. I have gotten a bracelet, belt and cashmere shawl there and they used to have a decent selection of these. Last time I went was in September though, so I'm not sure how things are now.Also, if I remember correctly, the prices are duty free in the store in boarding area G.
