You can!!! I totally think u can get one easily in Tokyo fr the H store. But the bags seem to fly out of the door the fastest in the main Ginza H store so try the other shops? And call up the Ginza store to check stock and if they have the bag u want - just go there immediately. Cos i was at the Ginza store and was looking at this 25 Orange Swift bag but decided it was way too tiny for me. Just 30mins later, a Jap lady came in and bought it within 15mins! SO FAST! I was a little shocked! Japs LOVE 25cm and 30cms but somehow think 35cms are too large. So it's good for me cos I actually like the casual relaxed look a 35cm birkin has. PS: I'll post a pic soon! =)

^^ Based on past experience as a visitor and what HK ladies here have posted, very unlikely. Kellys are much easier to find on the shelves thought. There are resellers if you're comfortable buying from them.
Have a good trip!

thanks VanillaSkye, ohh so sad, was hoping to get a birkin this time instead of kelly :(
anyway, any good reseller that I can visit? any suggestions?

TIA :tup::heart:

I just went to Tokyo and HK and my advice is head to Tokyo cos there were birkins everywhere - in all conceivable sizes/colours/leathers. 30cms are a little harder to get in Japan because Japanese women all prefer 30cms but 35cms/JPGs are easily available. Plus there were many 35cm crocs and also kelly bags were everywhere!!! Oh not forgetting the diamond croc I saw at one of the H stores in Shibuya. In HK, you need to know the SA for them to offer you one - a little like S'pore I feel. But i saw Kelly bags and Longues and Jiges etc displayed in the shops! =)

I think alot depends on the time you are there too. When I was in Tokyo January this year, there were a lot more 25cm/30cms than 35cm. (I preferred 35cm...) And I was under the impression that the locals preferred the 30cm so the Stores probably bought more of this size?:shrugs:

Probably by the time you were there (day end), the 30cms were sold? 'Cos the stores that I went to, tend to have more 30cms/25cm which is what I ended up with....;) I didn't see a JPG anywhere,...even Ginza/Shinjuku which I went to TWICE.

As for HK...Well, I go there at least 4 times a year and I have never seen a KL at any of the stores (Peninsula, Lee Gardens, Admiralty, Sogo, Central which is renovating now, Airport...). I spot KPs here and there (twice the SAs took them out from the back for me), but no KLs. So see? Sometimes it's the luck of the draw....:p
It's what makes the Hermes Bag hunt....FUN! :graucho:

Enjoy your trip Ferocia_Coutura!! I think good reccs has been given from everyone. I'd also suggest checking out the resellers who can give you a better idea of size/weight/leather feel of a Birkin even if decide to get your Birkin from the H-Store in the end.

Yes, it would definitely be easier to score a birkin at the H stores in Japan. I travel to Japan more than ten times a year and my office is located near Ginza so I'm pretty much popping into the Ginza store every two weeks. I'd have to say the Ginza store offers a bit more stock compared to the Shinjuku store in Isetan AND they have better service :tup: Keep in the mind however, that the prices in Tokyo are significantly marked up due to high import tax -- very close to price of those listed on eBay :push:

^And I couldn't agree more with A*M, everyone has provided really awesome recommendations for you. Enjoy your trip!!

thanks twigz... even there's a typhoon nuri hitting HK :p

I heard that they have a rose dragee birkin available in HK for walk-in customers, unfortunately I'm not sure at which Hermes store - if you're interested in this colour I suggest that you just go into all the stores in HK and ask for it. Good luck!

Do let us know how your HK trip goes. The Peninsular H store is a must-go. Do note that the H at Galleria in Central is still closed, I think it will re-open sometime in Sep.

Totally agree!!! I love how you don't know what to expect when you head into a H store and the feeling you get when you score something spectacular is indescribable!!!

Btw, I think I must be lucky because I even got to try on a JPG Bleu Jean Togo GHW when I was at the Ginza store but it was a tad heavy... My feeling was that the bags got sold out much faster at the Ginza store so I had much better luck at the Isetan Shinjuku one. In fact, I head to Tokyo at least once a year to shop (in Jul) and have always seen many 35cms. So maybe you should head up then!!! =)
