Apologies in advance if this question has already been asked, but I’m visiting Waikiki in May and am really hoping to get a Picotin 18 or Evelyn PM. I’m not picky on color  is it possible to buy these without a prior SA relationship or without buying a bunch of other stuff? I’ve been trying to get one of these at my home store in WA and there’s never any leather purses (it almost feels like these are treated as quota bags!) also the local SAs never follow up on any of my wishlist items… fingers crossed I can get a bag in Hawaii but would love to hear experiences.

hi! I walked into the Ala Moana store on Friday, Mar 4. I was asked if I had an appt and I said no and they were happy to take me in and they paired me with an available SA. I asked the SA if they had any Evelyn PM. She went to the back and came out with a Etoupe with palladium hardware. She said she also had an Etoupe with GHW, brand new with shrink wrap around the box. I ended up with the Etoupe with GHW and love it! My SA was Tomoko and would highly recommend her!!
Oh by the way, another customer was purchasing a gold picotin and there was also a pink 24/24!!

Went to the Waikiki store yesterday and the first thing SA said was inventory was low across all categories. Heard other SAs say the same thing to their clients. Ended up getting shoes and belt
Aww that’s sad, they had very good stock last week as they had a large shipment of RTW and shoes on Monday. Perhaps people shop during the Honolulu festival last weekend?

Hi! Did you just walk in and just ask for an Evelyn without buying or showing interest in other products?

Hello! I walked in and told the SA I was assigned that I was interested in seeing an Evelyne if they had any available specifically TPM and PM. She said ok and that she would check what they had in the back. She came out with the PM Etoupe pwh and said she also had it in ghw but no TPM.
I was surprised they had 2 and also surprised to see someone else viewing/purchasing picotin since the Bay Area stores are always sold out when I go there.
Maybe I just had good timing when I went to Ala Moana that time!

Thanks for your reply!! I was conflicted on which Hawaii store to go to

I thought they don’t like it when you have a SA/ purchase from another store. This is my first time going to Hermes so I’m nervous

Hi I travel to HI annually on a business/vacation trip. I usually go to both stores, buying from whichever has what I want in stock. I stick to the same SA at the store (if they are still around). I've never been treated differently based on that shopping habit, as I tell them I do not have a store near me. Last time this January, I had a pair of shoes on hold at Ala Moana. Later in Waikiki bought a new Apple Watch (after lots of assistance from the GM and SAs trying to see if I could carry off a 45mm). Before purchasing the watch I asked about Bolides. I was offered 2, but neither were exactly what I wanted so I passed. Later that week I went back to purchase the shoes I had on hold at Ala Moana (Waikiki didn't have them).

Many years ago I shopped almost exclusively at Ala Moana, and came to know my SA quite well. She later became the bag purchasing manager. Unfortunately she left for Prada and later for Valentino. Her replacement at Ala Moana was a guy that was also very good, but he is no longer there. I guess I was "without" a dedicated SA for a few years (and ...Covid hampered my travels). Based on what I've experienced this last trip I much prefer the Waikiki store and the SA I worked with there, and will stick with her from now on.

This was maybe my 5th time in an Hermes store (SF, NY Wall Street, HI, Palo Alto) but my very first time purchasing. All times I’ve visited the staff were very nice except once when I went with my MIL to help her choose a strap… our assigned SA (by appt) was not that personable and was juggling us with another customer. I later read in the forum that the SA we had tends to give preference to people with higher spend.
Anyway, check out both stores and be yourself

Don’t be nervous! At the end of the day, remember that it’s just shopping. The SAs job is to make sales for the company and their store. Ultimately the SAs essential duty is to maintain a business relationship with a client. :)

The SAs in Hawaii are super nice. Just kindly tell them that you’re looking for an Evelyne. Be prepared to tell them which size, color, and hardware if they ask. Evelynes are not quota bags, so if they have it in the specs you’re seeking, they’ll sell it to you.

You’re in a great position to shop with whoever and wherever you want because you’re a new Hermes client. The SAs will want to try to establish a long term business relationship if you frequent Hawaii often. You decide if you want to work with that SA or not, if yes they’ll give you their business card and you can connect with them and talk about other H items. If you did not click with the assigned SA, that’s OK because you can go to another store or visit back and see if you click with the next assigned SA.

Good luck and have fun!

Sorry if this has been answered before, but how is pricing for SLGs, scarves etc compared with mainland US and overseas? I heard LV is 10% cheaper in Hawaii, is that the same with H and other brands across the board? Thank you

Prices are exactly the same as the mainland, but our sales tax is just over 4%... So, depending on where you live, it could be less expensive in than your home store.
