If you can travel after August, I would pick Paris, for the few reasons, 1) the currency exchange rates, 2) it's Paris (beautiful architecture, wonderful food, lovely fall weather, lovely places to visit), 3) you will be visiting THE flagship store FSH!

Good luck in your decision! :smile1:

The price difference is really a lot, I am guessing around 30%(after VAT). I love Paris, been there four times, always enjoy it, I thought it's a better place to travel alone, you won't feel so weird. FSH is really an amazing place, hell(if you can't get a bag) or paradise being so close. Thanks.

I travel to Hawaii quite a bit and was recently in Paris as well. I would say that Hawaii gets very good inventory of bags. I prefer ala moana versus versus Waikiki because the inventory is better.

I've gotten both my Constance at ala moana. Specifically I just got one yesterday!

But I also have to say spending to build a history is important. Although I don't live here, I've bought a majority of my merchandise from ala moana. Good luck to you!

I just saw another TPFer criticizing about the Ala Mona store at another thread, but I guess everyone's experience is different.

OMG!! Which size did you get? what color and hardware? I truly love constance, nearly went the resller route, but since I almost got duped last time, I don't want to go through that again, paying such a premium without knowing for sure it's authenitc or not.

How much prepurchase would you say is needed? I asked the SA over the phone whehther it's possible to build a history instantly, she said yes.

Thanks for the input.

Good morning,

I got a 24. It's the rouge h with blue nuit. I can't tell you how much you have to pre-spend because I've bought my Hermes items over the past 10 years or so from them. So I really can't give you what is the right spending number. Sorry about this.

Also I've not discussed inventory over the phone. It was always when I'm at the store I give them a wish list and they wrk with it. If something pops up when I'm here I'll get it.

Sorry I'm not much help but the sales associate I would say is important. Good luck!

Hermes in Ala Moana is moving into a larger store in early December (I believe the opening date is Dec. 8). My guess is that they will have lots of inventory at that time. The new store is near the new Bloomingdales.

Oh Wow, I have to say OMG again, you got the prettiest enamel collection and in 24! I would book a ticket immediately. The enamel constance are so hard to find. So this again proves that the SA lied to me when she said she haven't seen constances for a few months, I don't understand the reason for telling such a lie, afterall, I wasn't looking for a promise or trying to make a purchase, just simply want to know if they do get constance more often than the other stores.

I completely understand the reason you are not able to tell me the exact amount, I am just trying to figure out whether they will directly tell you how much prepurchase is required.

How long do you usually stay there? Just like Paris, I think sales associate really matters a lot, but it's pure luck who you met if you have no connection. I am not good at playing games, I would prefer if they can tell me directly the amount required. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Dear Memo: wow, they are relocating? I didn't catch the message on Hermes website. I do agree that there would be a lot of inventory on opening, but there will also be a lot of people as well.

I am so sorry about your experience at Ala Moana but for the last 3 and half years that I've shopped there, my SA would always give me a heads-up on the inventory and also briefed me on the pre-purchase requirement. I've been to many many shops around the world due to my occupation and I would say Ala Moana have the best Constance inventory. You just have to ask and ask, but they don't save it for long, a few days only. But, if you don't shop they would always tell you no constance for months becuase constance is all kept for people who shop. My SA told me Hawaii H does not have much regulars so any tourist who shop a little and ask for constance could get lucky. So good luck to you, my turquoise silver buckle birkin I only spent a few thousand dollars on h bracelets and a few silk'in long wallet.

Not sure whether this is off topic, but I am really having a hard time deciding, so would like to ask for your help. For those of you who have been to Paris & Hawaii, which place would you say is better in terms of purchasing B/K/C (especially constances)?

I understand the difference of price between the two places, and that sometimes prepurchase is required for Hawaii stores (3-4000 USD according to previous posts), setting aside the above factors, which place is better? (as I can only choose one to go)

Thank you so much.

Definitely Paris!!! Check out the PAris tread too! Paris is supposed to be the best place in the world to buy a B/k! I've gotten 2 Birkins from there in the last 2 years and much much much cheaper Good luck!

I had the opportunity to pop into the ala moana boutique and it had quite a bit of shoppers. All the SAs looked like they were helping folks. I saw an so kelly, lindy, toolbox, halzan, small cute purse with a striped canvas strap.... quite a number of leather garden parties..carnets d'equateu porcelain... sets on display lots of pretty jewelry. I only took a quick in and out, so I do want to go back in to get a better peek.

I read from some TPFers experience that they do share inventory over the phone, so I was trying to find out, but I guess everyone's experience is different. I know when it comes to H, all the rules changes if you are VIP, but I am not. Most of the H stores asked you to do a lot of purchase for the coveted items, like in my country, they require $30,00 USD prepurchase on non leather items. Then I guess August is a bad month just like Paris.

I am having a hard time deciding which place to go for vacation, I can't go to both. That's why I would like to choose one with more chances of success at H, I always like to go to H when travelling. Going to Hawaii or Paris makes no difference, hence the struggel.

The recent experience I have seen shared here are all good, the bad ones are from yelp, quite a few people have bad expereince. I just read one person saying that she asked for a birkin, then a male staff came out to speak to her in an very insulting manner, saying that she need to spend at least $20K. OMG!! I thought they would just nicely tell you how much prepurchase is required.[/QUOT

Go to paris!! no pre purchase required.

Ala Moana update - seemed to have lots of goodies, wall of leather garden parties, a variety of bags on display (sorry, can't remember them all to ID!), many wallets, an orange gator jige clutch, and black and orange (swift leather I think?) jige clutches that were not on display. I was there two days ago and *think* I saw a beige ostrich kelly wallet (don't quote me on this, I saw it out of the corner of my eye and I was eagle focused on bags), but today it was not on display so I'm guessing it found a home. I was also able to purchase a Constance on my first go.

They seemed to have plentiful CDCs + other jewelry, housewares. I was surprised at the scarf and belt selection, I thought these would be more robust here.

If you're heading to Oahu in the next few weeks, definitely worth a visit here!

May I ask what size constance did you get? was it 24? what color and hardware? did you make any prepurchase before you ask? sorry to be asking in such detail, but I really love constance, and have been wondering if it's worth visiting Hawaii. Was there any rodeo avilable? How about the Waikiki store? did you visit that store? TIA.

I was able to get a 24 cm Epsom rose Jaipur ghw Constance, no pre purchase and I have no purchase history with Hermes in general. I forgot to ask about rodeos (I so regret it bc I want one, they're so cute!) and I didn't visit any other Hermes in Oahu. Happy to write a longer post in more detail if that would help ppl! Like this reply so I know.

I visited the Oahu Royal Hawaiian center Hermes store in Waikiki Tuesday 8/23 in the evening. They couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. I was also looking for a Constance and sadly they did not have one, but my sales associate spent forever with me telling me about all their inventory, looking up what else they had in the back and bringing me stuff to show me that I told him I knew I wasn't interested in purchasing but just wanted to see. He gladly obliged and seemed excited to share some special items with someone who loves the brand. I got a larger jige clutch in rose confetti but also saw a rose Sakura double sens with a yellowy color on the inside. He also showed me a toolbox that he said was really special that he had never seen before - he just got it in. It was white on front, black on back and that pale yellow (jaune poissoin?) inside. It was gorgeous. They had Constance wallets, plenty of Evelyn's and toolboxes and jiges and lindys and seemed like lots more stock in the back to show. But no Constance. I did not ask about birkin or Kelly. What a pleasant experience!

Hi! I've been waiting for my favorite Hermes store in the mainland US to get the tri-color Toolbox. Do you remember the size? and were you able to get a photo? Glad to know it exists as my SA told me it was coming soon! Thanks!
