So this is just what my SA said that because I live here, it's a lot easier for me to get the quota bag that I want. She actually stresses out when customers who aren't local visit sometimes because there's already a low stock and to get the bag that you would want, she'd have to order it. Depending on the day you arrive and length of visit, it might not come. She mentioned that she does try to get what out of town customers want, especially after spending so much and if they're extremely kind (she emphasized that part lol), she feels bad when she's unable to deliver. She might be the exception; I don't know.

I'd suggest reaching out to your SA and letting them know ahead of time when you'd be there. I'm told that if your bag comes before you do, they can only hold it for 4 days. Also, my SA is always pushing watches on me so I'd say that it probably does help, especially the ones with diamonds. But I haven't bought a watch yet and still managed to get quota bags so I guess it really depends. Hope any of that helps. Best of luck!
Just to be clear, this isn’t how Hermes works. Bags are ordered by the store managers a few distinct times during the year at elaborate events in Paris called “Podium”. After that, the items are created by the artisans and shipped to the individual stores at corporate’s complete whim. Stores do not control when an individual bag from the podium order arrives, they just show up throughout the year (though some SAs can sometimes see the details of an upcoming (next week) delivery). So if you email your SA “hi, I’ll be in town next weekend. I’d love a black B25.” there’s nothing she can really do about it. She can’t “order one” for you. The most she can perhaps do is put one aside if it happens to arrive in that time and she gets management approval. However Hawaii seems loathe to actually do that and is more of a ”ok here you are today, let’s see if anything I happen to have on hand would satisfy you” I’ve even read of several cases of SAs expecting clients to fly to hawaii to “pick up a surprise” and being completely unwilling to disclose what the bag/item is until the client shows up in person. I assume it’s because a few years ago Hawaii had a bunch of drama with SAs being fired after discussing bag possibilities with a client over text/email and the client interpreting this to mean they were guaranteed a bag and they went ballistic when no bag was offered. Now they seem to resist any mention of bags in written communication.

I had the same experience as @AlaiaLvr. My SA in Hawaii told me to let them know my wishlist about a week or two before I come so they can get a bag for me. They said it’s really hard to get a bag once you are there because they have mostly already been allocated to customers.

Hi all! Does anyone know if lindy 30 is considered prespend at Hawaii? I keep hearing that all things, leather goods included, are considered prespend. Would appreciate if someone could confirm! Thanks!

Edit: also wondering if US and Canada profiles are separate?

I don’t think you need prespend for lindy 30. And that size is easier to get than 26 from my experience.

Hi! Thanks for your response! I’m asking if lindy can be counted as prespend for a bkc, not whether lindy requires prespend .

Also wondering if US and Canada profiles are linked.. I don’t want it to affect my home profile.

There is no magical threshold to spend toward to get a bag; prespend is merely a measure of the competitiveness of the market. Everything counts to some degree. Will buying a Lindy 30 put you ahead of someone else who has bought nothing? Probably. Will buying an $8,000 Lindy 30 put you ahead of someone else who has bought an $8,000 gold bracelet? Probably not. Will buying a Lindy 30 put you ahead of a 10 year loyal client who has only bought a couple pairs of Orans this year? Probably not.

Profiles are not linked between USA and Canada.

Admittedly, I only started my Hermes journey a few months ago, so I felt a little bad when I read what @acrowcounted wrote - I don't want to be spreading misinformation or anything. I understand that my experience is largely anecdotal. I'm not a big spender, and I haven’t had trouble yet with getting the bag I asked for, so I took what my SA said to heart. I couldn't believe it when I received my second QB so recently after the first. After I expressed my surprise, my SA explained what I wrote earlier. She always uses the word "order" specifically, and she speaks multiple languages, so I can see where I might've misunderstood her.

But I'm a bit relieved to know that you shared a similar experience. Maybe we're the lucky few; I don't know. But thank you @acrowcounted for explaining the ordering process. I learn more and more every day.

I’m sorry Alaia, and please dont feel bad! Hermes is notoriously cagey with their processes so please don’t take my correction personally. I do believe Hawaii, as with all other H stores, is easier for the locals who can pop in often and has a different protocol for visitors which of course you wouldn’t be familiar with since you luckily get to live in Hawaii. I just didn’t want to leave hanging the idea that Hawaii can order up bags on short notice for clients since we get many newcomers to the forum who might take that idea and have the wrong expectations with the SAs there. Mahalo! :flowers:

Wow thats really good that you were able to get 2 QBs so quickly without being a big spender. If you dont mind, what bags did you get?

My Hawaii SA told me the same thing, to let her know the dates I will be in town and she will see if anything on my wishlist is available. I told her I will fly out to pick up if something on my wishlist arrives.

I was told leather goods, bags or small leather goods do not count. But everyone might be different as some don’t believe in pre-spend.

Please don't apologize! I didn't take it personally at all! I just felt bad if I was shilling misinformation is all. And you're right, newcomers might have the wrong expectations, so I'm happy to be corrected when I'm wrong - no shame in it at all. I also learned something new. To be honest, it made me appreciate my SA more and the rest of their staff. Cheers to that haha

I don't mind at all! I wound up with two K25 in jaune poussin and mauve sylvestre :biggrin: I really only wanted a Kelly in 25 or 28. My SA did ask if I wanted a Birkin at all, but I said no. Nothing against the bag; I just prefer the shape of the Kelly.

Oooh that's interesting. Higher at Ala Moana than Waikiki or your home store, if you're not local? How much did you have to spend at Ala Moana as opposed to the other store? Do you have different accounts for each store? I thought about doing that to land 4 QBs instead of 2, but I heard it's not good if they find out. If you've had some success then maybe I'll try it.

Ah... I don't really remember how much I spent. I'm sorry! I should keep better track, but I do remember what I bought: two sandals, two kelly belts, two scarves, a set of teacups and teapot.
