I have a theory that the Waikiki store will have good offerings until the Japanese tourists come back. I have noticed much lower spend thresholds, and more leather offerings recently. The current USD strength vs many currencies has slowed down spending, and foreign visitors. The SAs will be more inclined to offer and sell whatever items they have put on the side to make sure they meet their quotas. This has been my observation dealing with both stores during the last 4 months.

I hope so! I’ll be making a trip this fall and am hoping to get a k25 at that time, so I can use all the luck and hoping everything is in my favor to get a good offering. Since you seem to be familiar with inventory there, have you heard of folks getting offers for harder to get sizes like b25 or k25 (or even the elusive mini kelly)? I keep hearing it’s hard to get but when I peruse the 2022 offerings, everything seems to be those harder to get specs.

Unfortunately the chances of getting a quota bag on your first visit will be all but impossible (unless you are spending 3:1+) and they happen to have what you are looking for. I only know a handful of others that got quota bags recently, and they were all b30s (from the Ala Moana store).

I’m actually established at the Waikiki store and got a b30 on my last visit. It wasn’t my ideal size but was a dream to receive. Hoping this time around I could score something smaller but I don’t want to get my hopes up if inventory just isn’t great for small bags there.

Hi! I have read that it is difficult to get a quota bag on your first visit but does that mean you first visit to the store or the duration of the vacation? I have also heard of others going to the store a few times during their stay to shop and was wondering would that count as multiple visits?

It means the entirety of your first trip. They want clients who are motivated to make return trips to hawaii, not the one trip and done clients.
