I need help deciding which colorway to keep! I prefer the caramel/caban/nois because the design is more distinctive but not so sure it likes me😳. Such a tough decision! Please ignore my quick ties and unstyled hair!
Team Caramel. It looks wonderful on you, softer than monochrome yet distinct. These are the exact two I was eyeing, and went for caramel in the end. I find it more versatile, less fussy (that creamy white background will be a stain magnet) and, for you personally, I think of the two, the caramel is the more flattering (both do look good, IMO caramel looks better).

I love the Caramel on you! It is softer and warmer than the b&w version, and goes very well with your eyes and hair.

I have tried on the b&w myself and found it a beautiful piece, but it has a lot of contrast and this is not for everyone (and not for me). I will definitely try the Caramel now that I have seen your fotos!

You look stunning and happy in both! I can maybe share my own selection process which I apply with a degree of flexibility to allow for a coup de foudre exception.
When I first became familiar with the colour theory of "seasons" it resonated with me: looking at my skin tone (neutral) and predominant colour palette (summer) but with mid to low contrast between my skin colour, eye colour and hair colour (muted) I am a "soft summer", and as such, designs that are less contrasty and graphic are more flattering on me.
When I apply these "rules" or guidance to assess your choices, it appears to me that the caramel cw has similar contrast as your features which makes it more harmonious. It is just my personal opinion, of course, and it is not always infallible, but seems to serve me well. You know in your heart which one makes it sing

Caramel is absolute harmony with your skin tone, eyes and hair, IMHO. The black and white looks harsh, there is too much constrast which isn't softened by either grey or brown.

Up til yesterday, I’d been very sad about Emile en Nuit this season. I really like the design and wanted one of the colorways to work but it was like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears: ‘this one’s too muted, that one’s too similar to something else I have’ etc etc.

I’d never even clicked into this cw or considered it and then a mod shot from @LKBNOLA sent me on a quest to try it on. And I’m so besotted! It makes me feel like a character in Alice in Wonderland.

I was very inspired by @julian.f ‘s image of the versatility of her d’Orphee shawl. I don’t know that this pic is as successful but it can pair with red, burgundy, navy and prob also lighter blues, plum purple, rust, beiges and even maybe a green. Essentially the majority of my autumn and winter wardrobe, I’m stoked.

Perfect choice, very happy for you, Jereni!

Both are beautiful scarves! I would lean towards the caramel CW. I think it is a more elegant look. The black & white just seems like such a stark contrast for this one.

Hi, I’ve been using ChatGPT for my own color analysis, and I find it really informative. I added your photos to try out the feature, and here’s what it says!

“the best choice of scarf will depend on her skin tone, hair color, and overall contrast level:

1. First Scarf (Black and White):
• This scarf features high-contrast black and white tones, which tend to suit individuals with cool undertones and high contrast between their hair, skin, and eyes (e.g., Winters).
• On her, it works reasonably well because the crispness complements her likely cool undertones. However, the stark contrast might be a bit overwhelming unless her natural coloring has strong contrasts.

2. Second Scarf (Warm Brown and Black):
• This scarf is more muted and features earthy tones, which align better with Autumn palettes (warm undertones, lower contrast).
• On her, this scarf appears less complementary because it introduces warmth that doesn’t seem to enhance her complexion. Instead, it dulls her features slightly.

Best Choice:
The black and white scarf (first scarf) is a better fit for her coloring. The cool tones and sharper contrast bring out her natural vibrancy more effectively than the warm, muted tones of the second scarf. If she wants to make the second scarf work, pairing it with cooler, high-contrast clothing could help balance the warmth.”

I’m really sorry if my comment came across as unkind—that was absolutely not my intention. I was just sharing how the colorway worked for me personally. I truly value the kindness and diversity of opinions in this community and appreciate everyone’s insights!

That’s hilarious! I do trust my mom’s opinion as she has zero political correctness and will tell me things as they are:smile: - but have to give credit to the SAs! I actually thought that this CW would look great on you as you can carry purple and violet so well (and I can’t), but I am glad you found an alternative! Please post mod shots when you have a chance!

Thank you for these wonderful photos-- the design is undeniably gorgeous. Sorry it did not work for you @Ashanti_Rose. The blue is a very seductive option-- but then to me, the blue cw almost always is!

Well, you two-- this does not bode well for those of us of are --um-- actually old! But it is true, @Ashanti_Rose you have so many stunning shawls that you probably have a very defined sense of what works for you. And @SilkCouture, congratulations-- please do post mod shots as we have not seen the Vert Loden cw!

I agree @supermommy101 -- very reminiscent although the scale of the botanicals seems larger to me.

Agree with you, both comments are not very nice!

I’m cheering for team caramel and find it interesting, and for another thread, how it appears that AI has amalgamated bits of information, but has gotten the actual analysis wrong.
Thank you for this. Exactly my thoughts. I couldn't agree more with your view on this. The AI outcome might actually be a interesting discussion topic for a new thread, if one doesn't exist already.

Just as an aside, I'm happy that someone added some modelling shots of the caramel Orphee. I wore it out yesterday, and I couldn't be happier. It has such a lovely quality to it, a je nais sais quoi because there are many adjectives I could attribute to it. The colours are full of depth and you'd expect it to be a bit harsh. Yet the entire effect remains, somehow, soft and very flattering.

It sounds lovely. I would love to see some of your photos too, if you would find the time 😊
