Still no 🦄 on the EU sites but I did manage to finally order the Dressage Tressage in cw 03. It is beautiful of course but alas, it does not make my heart sing… I wish it was a lot brighter….

Here are some mod shots, I think @SilkCouture wanted to see this cw…

I love how my 2 daughters are hidden behind the shawl in the last pic

The design is gorgeous, especially in a tighter knot, but I agree that the colors could be better for you. It’s odd with the colors as they are so beautiful to look at.

@redheaddem, I believe the two shawls that you truly love in your collex-- your Selle Imaginaire and your Botanica Grafica are quite vibrant when tied near your face, if memory serves. This is beautiful but definitely more subdued, whereas the cw I have has some very bright pink and red sections. I do agree with @Ashanti_Rose that these colors are beautiful and suit you perfectly but it is softer and perhaps it wants a softer neutral or blue top (like the hem) rather than black? But you know your wardrobe and you have to love a CSGM for sure! Did you try other seasonal options like En Liberte or are you looking for something more graphic?

So, on Saturday I “did a thing”, as our dear @bunnycat would say. Two things in fact. Like others here, I have been obsessing about Vallee since the very first sneak preview pics at the end of June. This was the one silk this season that was a ‘must have’ for me and, like @DrTr, I knew that the 01 pink and purple confection was the one for me. These colours are right in my wheelhouse (purple has always been my favourite colour), and the colourway overall is just so perfect for the 80’s iconography that it was impossible to resist.

I put my name down months ago and got the call last week. Made the trip in on Saturday to pick up - SO excited! My lovely SA had put aside both colourways they received for me - 01 and 02 (already modelled beautifully by our dear @Ladybaga). When I got there, I tried the purple, which was instant love: DH and lovely SA agreed! My surprise was that they had just received, and put on hold for me, the green 06. I have very little green in my wardrobe and my SA knows it’s not something I gravitate towards. She said the moment she saw it, she knew it would be perfect for me as it matched my eyes. I was worried this would be too grassy green, based on the web pictures, but it has gorgeous blue and turquoise tones that make it a surprisingly stunning silk. And yes, she was right. DH insisted this one come home with us too.

Okay, I’ve rambled on enough in my excitement and we’ve had lots of great pics and thoughts shared already, so I’ll just get to it. Both of these will be put aside for future gifts, but I was able to take some quick mod shots today to share with our wonderful community here. Hopefully, they help with some decisions, as so many of you have helped me. And, without trying to convince anyone, I am home, was wearing jeans and a simple white sweater, and these were quick throw-ons with no effort made to style them. I love bright colours and contrasts, and this really is a ”throw and go”, wear-anywhere prospect for me. I cannot say enough how much I ADORE these!

One last thought for anyone who is worried about the brightness of the colour: it’s a very saturated scarf, and the reverse side is actually a very convincing softer version of the design. An ”unintentional double-face” as it were (apologies to whoever coined this descriptor, it is escaping me in this moment and the credit should go to that person). Both sides are lovely. I’ve captured a couple of pics to show this below.

These collages and the whole story are wonderful @Lellabelle! I can't believe you remembered the "accidental double face" discussion from the SOTD thread (it was Bal de Oiseaux that started it, I think). But this is one too, for sure! I sent a photo of the wrong side to a friend as soon as I saw it. In any case big congratulations and I bow to your patience at putting them back in the SGV until later this year...

Ha ha ha !
Reminds me of the Lamento d'Arianna (by Monteverdi aka me).

Lasciatemi morire!
E che volete voi che mi conforte
In così dura sorte,
In così gran martire?
Lasciatemi morire!
......

O Orfeo, O Orfeo mio....(btw, it is Teseo in the real lyrics)
........
Dove, dov'è la fede
Che tanto mi giuravi?

etc...

We could invent a Hermes song with the music of Monteverdi...
This was the best! But now we need a performance @monteverdi...

Yes! It was Bal de Oiseaux! Thank you for that - it’s been driving me crazy! And I’m pretty sure it was you that first used the phrase, so I can give credit where it is due :)

I hope I haven't missed any other new-ins. I just got my second Vallee de Cristal for which @Ladybaga and @Maedi were the proximate cause of enablement. This was a design not on my radar at all so I am a bit gobsmacked to find that I have not one but two unicorns...It is a very unusual scarf in the richness of the coloration/saturation in every corner and the I find that the design is quite dynamic-- it has movement and flow. Bienvenue and Hermes did a wonderful job.
Thanks to everyone for all the great analysis and photos and to @momasaurus and @Redbirdhermes for the green comparisons and to everyone who weighed in on the wearability factor...I so appreciate the insights of this thread!

I can't wait to see your mod shots of 02!!! Very honored to be your twin on this one and can't wait to learn new ways to tie and style it, thanks to your expertise and always fabulous pics! (pardon the run-on sentence. I've been retired from teaching English, so that is my excuse!)

Don’t want to throw the thread but had to post.
There are so many moments I wonder about our devices and lack of privacy. Look what popped up as an ad for me
….Or is the mystical world telling me to buy something 🦄 🤣

@Nomad:

Guess what: yesterday I passed along the window of a bookstore. And suddenly, I saw:
