Happy online shopping

Was admiring all the bags, especially the ones listed as 'Keep exploring' but not available (why taunt us H.com?), and got blocked for the first time.

There were a couple of Evelyns, Garden Parties, Picotins and a beautiful Magnolia Blu Nuit Officer on the US site.

It is so easy to get blocked! I don't even refresh the page, just navigate to a few different categories and end up getting blocked :cursing:

H updates the individual landing pages for each item before it updates the main page so by the time you are seeing it on the main page it’s usually too late and the items are already sold. A lot of resellers add auto refreshers to those landing pages and scoop everything up before it hits the main page which sucks. You can get lucky though.

i thought i would share my recent experience
i don't have a store in my city so i use one in a different city - few hours drive - but i have consistently purchased from on SA who is awesome. i have had great quota bag offers including b 25/ k25/ c18 and a chance to do an SO which i am eagerly awaiting for its arrival-- and i have defnitely purchased across the board bc i really do love most things
i sometimes buy small things on line -- more impulse purchases since i dont get to the store --scarves, scarf rings.. but never RTW or anything of that caliber-- i dont always want to bother her about small things .. esp if im not sure i will love it or not and i think returning to store can be cumbersome.
but recently, i was texting w her about a dress she said " your online purchases are killing me . lol!"
first i thought i was being paranoid and had a guilty conscience bc i had just bought a scarf online.. but then it turned out she saw my on line purchases.. anyway we had a phone conversation and everything is/ was fine.. and honestly i really like her and she's been great so i didn't mind the call.. but it was funny - she felt bad -- as if i thought i couldn't approach her about things i wanted..
and i guess they can see everything.. not that i was trying to hide it..
i felt like i got caught with my pants down.... !
anyway, i know this sounds like a lot of drama, and honestly we both laughed that i felt like a relationship.. but going forward i will reach out to her first.. esp bc she has been so good !

Yes it’s pretty we’ll known that buying online if you have a dedicated SA in the store is a no no but you can send them ss of what you like online and they can place an order for you through the boutique which counts towards your spend. This doesn’t count for shopping oversees until the global profile system is put into place which I read is being worked on.

Doesn’t sound like your purchases ruffled too many feathers but at least she mentioned it. It was probably awkward for her too if you think about it. You should be fine going forward :flowers:

Do you know how they link your online profile to boutique? Is it by phone number or by address? Does that mean they can link and see DH and my accounts because we have the same address?

I think it's pretty well established that online purchases don't help with SA relationships. However many buyers, such as myself, really aren't interested in getting the B, K, C offers. And so I will take the convenience any day of purchasing my scarves, jewelry, Evelynes (that's all I really buy) online rather than dealing with the hassle of a boutique. The fact that you can't return for a refund an in-store purchase is reason enough for me to buy online. But now with the lines, appointments, shortages, etc. I would much rather just purchase online. I tried dealing with the boutiques recently to purchase an Evelyne, and you might have thought I was calling to ask about buying a Himalaya Birkin based on the reactions. Just too much for me, personally!

Your story is helpful, though, I'm sure for those looking to build and maintain an SA relationship.

First of all, your dog (in your profile picture) is so adorable!!!

From my understanding, we only have 1 profile in Hermes - whether it's online or in-store. But for the purchases, there are 2 "lanes", online purchase and in-store purchase. SA can see our online purchase because it's in our profile, but we can't see the history of our in-store purchases from our online account.

As for me, they were able to look me up based on my phone number. I'm a new shopper, so when I went to the store, they just asked for my number and saw that I have created an online profile.

I’ve never thought about it this way, I’ve always shopped a mixture of store and online (when it became available) and not always in the same store. Pre covid when I travelled a lot I would also purchase from abroad and I was always open about this with my SA who didn’t seem to mind but then I am not on a endless quest for quota bags so maybe my experience would be different if I was.

This pretty much sums the way I go about shopping from H these days; I already have the bags that I want and need and so it’s the convenience of buying online that works for me. My SA still reaches out to me to do a wish list but I‘m not interested in quota bags but I do visit the store from time to time to shop for other things with him.

Have anyone tried ordering on their website while on vacation, and opted for the store pickup option? For example, if you are on vacation in Paris, and ordered through the French website and opted to pick up at FSH. Would this be a viable option? And would it be possible to de-tax via this option?
I have done this a couple of times, once in Paris and once in London, and they did not allow me to de-tax

I struggle with trying to keep my purchases to my SA in-store but I live in a super competitive city and every time I go I feel like supply for everything is low. I put in some orders for tableware back in December but haven’t heard if they ever came in. I’ve since ordered a handful of plates online every time I’ve seen them on the site but I always feel guilty inside. What’s the best way to manage this? Every time I ask about the plates order she just tells me she doesn’t know when they will come in. Are there certain items I should try to order online through her?
