Is anybody else completely confused on what size to get? I managed to get a 40.5 (waiting for them to deliver) and I’m normally a 41 in oran since I have a wide foot/length. Normally I’m a 40 in all designer shoes

My SA told me to size 1/2 size down from Orans but I’m reading here it’s mixed reviews on sizing down, staying TTS, or sizing a full size or two up…

Hoping these for when they arrive but I’m just so confused
i guess woman' chypres 1/2 or 1 up from normal size, some girls wear man' chypres which are 2 sizes up from a normal size

Hi everyone. Just wanted to share my sizing experience with the “Men” chypre in black leather.
So I am usually a Women 8.5 US. And I take a 39.5 in Orans and I took a size 40Men Chypre. (I also tried a 39.5 Men chypre and it was too small lenght wise)
But this info is only for the leather chypre, the shearling ones are big, cuz I tried 40men in the shearling and they were huge.

Ladies,
Honest advice needed. (I’ll include some crusty feet pics, but I have covid, so no pedicures for me )

I usually wear a 39.5 in Orans, so I was told to size up a full size in chypre. After 10 days of stalking the H website, I managed to get a 41 which was HUGE (pic included). After another 10 days of stalking I only managed to get a size 39.

Here’s my issue - the 39 fits fine, does not feel tight anywhere and I can walk well in them, however the edge of my feet are just at the border of the shoe in the back. Should I keep them or return, as I’m honestly tired of having to sit around refreshing the website more times than I’d like at this point, for a size 40.

Wow I’ve been trying to get a 41 and haven’t been able to snag one yet :/

But honestly I think the 39 doesn’t look bad it looks like it’s the perfect fit!
Does it hurt your foot or feel uncomfortable?

I think sz 39 looks fine? The 1st pic looks like you have some extra room in the toe area, as the leather stretch out with some wears your feet will slide forward a bit. From my experience Chypre fit half size larger than my Oran's.

Actually first pic is of the size 41. Those were ridiculously big. I was also thinking 40 might be on the bigger side. So confusing!

Ahh okay! I still think 39 looks fine on you, it's a tighter fit but definitely not too small, although I can see why you want to go up half a size for comfort, sometimes our feet expand in the hot summer heat or walking around all day. Maybe try on the 39 again in the afternoon, after you've done some walking around the house so you'll have a better idea if 39 will work for everyday wear? Btw, get well soon! :flowers:

They actually feel quite comfy, can’t complain. Could use a tiny bit of wiggle room though

As for the size 41, I never saw it in stock again in any of the colors. And trust me, I’ve spent my entire week of quarantine refreshing the H website (a lil pathetic at this point ). Actually, majority of the available sizes were all 38 and below. Rarely would I see a 39, meanwhile 40 and above I haven’t seen for a good 10 days. Strange.

If they feel comfortable I would definitely keep them! But I agree with waterlily112 try them on in the afternoon after some walking too. But they definitely look perfect!

Aw man so lucky! I’ve been refreshing a ton too I managed to get a 40.5 just hoping they fit when they come in since I’m a 41 in Orans

This whole sizing on the Chypre’s is so confusing especially because it’s so inconsistent

Nice rug colors!
You're a 40. The heel should not sit as so on the back. You need a little room on the back. You will notice when you walk in them for a long period of time, your foot will tend to be back more than forward in them. Thus my advice. I went through the same dilemma. Do not bother and get half size. Half per hermes is more width room not length. You're either 40 or 40.5. my opinion.

You are the same size as me in Orans and the best fit for me was the 40.
I was able to order 39, 39.5 , 40. So I really got to compare, and 40 was a much better fit, and the comment above from Fonnas when she says that when we walk our feet kindof goes back is right.
But I mean the size u have is doable, its just for that price… and if you want the perfect fit then you might need to wait.
