Would you accept a B25 gold togo with gold hardware, but brushed?

I’ve had a gold on gold on my wish list for over 5 years. Today, my SA offered me a B25 gold togo with gold brushed hardware. Before today I wasn’t even aware that they were making non special order bags with brushed hardware. As such, my preference and what I’ve always had in my mind is polished gold hardware.

I shop at a very competitive store and have been fortunate to get the bags I’ve wanted over the years. Having said that, B25 gold on gold has been the absolute hardest to obtain.

At the time of being offered, so many things were weighing on my mind.. if I don’t take it, how much longer will I have to wait until the polished gold hardware option is available, not to mentioned allocated to me? Would I be letting my SA down? That combined with the fact that I was being offered in the middle of the store full of people, all eyes on us. I guess I felt the pressure and took it.

I adore the shine of the polished hardware so it’s abit of a shame that this bag has brushed hardware. Do you think I’ll learn to love it?

Would you have accepted it?
I would have accepted brushed gold over shiny without hesitation but that’s because gold on gold is not my personal preference so the more muted finish is more appealing to me in this combination. It’s a very special bag but you have to love it.

I love brushed gold hardware, but as others have said, YOU need to love it. Don't worry about letting your SA down. Who knows, your preferred hw may be your next offer.

I would accept bc brushed gold feels like having an SO and I think it’s more scratch resistant than polished. I like that it’s different from traditional GoG and less flashy. Of course, keep only what you love. Let us know what you end up deciding.

I would love a strap too, so practical.
I wonder if they didn’t remove it because the bag is heavy (even more filled: let’s say a 30 or a 35 with a computer and such!) and the straps were wearing off quickly.

Cross-posting from the Hermes in Print thread. I wish they would bring back the shoulder strap even though there's a part of me that dislikes the look of a tote being shoulder carried. But having the strap option would be so practical. The comments section are still always entertaining to read. Such vile for the bag. Lol.

At first glance, it looks fun like a catch-all carefree bag but it doesn’t look anything like the photo. As it turns out, they are made of very old and used canvas bags. It looks unsanitary and I wouldn’t use it even if it was free. I suppose if someone had their own bag already and wanted to custom this, that’s different but still $1200-1500? No, thank you.
I was just looking into making it on my own. I found all the hardware online for about 25 dollars, then purchasing an LLBean Boat and Tote for about 50 dollars and then the red canvas for the Sangles for about 20 dollars. Incidentals are possibly another 50..if you have a serger sewing machine, I guess the bulk of the cost is time. Plus, it seems that she has sold out most of hers and the lead time is 6 months at this point. Crazy, but good for her though. Agreed. I think they look super cool, but not at that price point.

After reading all of your responses and comparing this bag against others with shiny gold hardware, I came to the realisation that I don’t mind the brushed. Here’s to enjoying my new gold on gold ☺️ thank you to all who took the time to respond to my post, much appreciated!!
I’m glad you took the bag. It’s a beautiful timeless combo. I find the brushed gold on this bag sophisticated and classic. Congrats!

Hello, I just bought from Fashionphile a Garden Party 36 in Vache Country Rouge Duchesse. I'm wondering how versatile others have found the color. On my screen, the red seemed like a true red--not blueish, not orangey, just red. But IRL, it's a kind of fascinating pinkish/orangey/brownish/rusty (back to pinkish) red. I think I love it, but it's not really a bright, neutral color (or maybe it is?), which is what I think I was after. If you have a bag in Rouge Duchesse, what do you wear it with? Is it a bag for all seasons? I live in the Boston area, so we have all four, and a few more.

I'd also love comments on the leather, which is new to me. I have other bags in Togo, Box, and Clemence, all in neutral or dark colors: black, gold, etoupe, chocolate, black, black, black . . .

Another question: I was planning to have the bag authenticated by Bababebi--as I did with a Jypsiere I bought on the Real Real: very reassuring--but I see that Fashionphile has a lifetime authenticity guarantee, which I take to mean that if I bring this bag to the Hermes spa at some point after the 15-day return period, and Hermes determines it's a fake, Fashionphile will refund the purchase price. Does anyone have any experience with this guarantee? Should I trust Fashionphile?

I'll be grateful for all comments & advice.
