Amazingly well said! My biggest problem when I see those posts online are that they never factor in acquisition cost of the other items they’d never considered buying otherwise. I enjoy shopping at Hermes as a pick-me-up and the bags are a nice addition, the only time I call it an “investment” is when I talk to people who don’t understand it’s just my hobby that I enjoy. I would never sell my bags or look to buy the “best resale investment” bag because I only buy what brings me joy. But I think some of that also stems from the annoyance of relatives calling my first luxury handbag “not an investment piece” (it was a Fendi monster bag).

That being said @haute okole, I’m ready for adoption any time! 🤪
I think DH likes to think that my H bags are an investment so that he can justify all the spending that happens before I get said bags 🤣 It also may be why he loves getting me a walk in appointment in Paris...he feels as if the bag I'm then offered really is a good investment.

And, when talking to friends who don't 'get' why I'd spend so much on a bag, I simply show them the websites on which they could purchase the same bag for two or three times what I paid. And then I try not to judge them for the money they spend on their passions.

Yes!! Omg whatever gets the hubby on board, I’ll say it!! 😅 My DH didn’t get it until I got my first QB and saw the resale price online. Now when I get texts from my SA he’s excited and doesn’t get too grumpy when I go to the store lol. All this when he knows I’m never going to resell, just the thought of it “paying for itself as an investment” somehow flipped the switch for him.

Same as mine! Lol

Hi all,

I need your help again. I am looking at an unused Birkin 25 from a reseller. From the picture, are you able to tell if the 2 lines on the base are scratches or indentations or leather grains?

Thank you.

They look like scratches. Chèvre doesn't naturally have lines like that.

Fine price and timeless size and color! I'm enjoying my new bj b25 a lot - the muted color makes it so easy to style. Enjoy!!

Oh dear! The seller assured me that there were no scratches on the bag. I have made the purchase. How do I argue with the seller that these are scratches?

How much do you think is a reasonable price to pay for this bag?
I'm sorry this happened for you. I mean, you will eventually probably get marks on the interior unless you use a bag liner, but if I am sold a bag as new, I would like it to be new. If you look at the other side of the interior bottom of the bag you can see vertical striations that are natural.

I honestly have no idea what folks pay for B25s at resale, but I can't imagine you'd get too much of a price break for something this minimal. I would examine the bag very carefully in case there are other issues.

Not sure if this interests anyone in this thread, but I saw these new Hermès over ear headphones! At first glance, I thought these were another collaboration with Apple. Possibly using the electronics of Apple’s AirPods Max headphones.

Took me a while to find more information as they weren’t in production yet and not many people were talking about it either.

This is a collaboration between Hermès and Ultrasone, a German audio company. These headphones come in a few different colours in box leather: Gold or Naturel (pictured below), Noir, Rouge H, Ébène, Rouge H, and Bleu de Prusse. Apparently, these headphones are currently released in China. I have not seen them in any other regions so far. These headphones are priced at RMB 110,000 (approx. $15,250 USD), quite shocking if you search up the price of regular Ultrasone headphones!

Anyone have these or seen these in person before? Would love to hear more about these headphones :)
