It's really hard to get IP protection for fashion/clothing. You can certainly get trademark protection for the name of the brand or its logo(s). You can get copyright protection for patterns (e.g. LV monogram). Sometimes you can get color trademarked for narrow cases, like Louboutin's red soles. But otherwise, you're mostly out of luck, which is why you can see legitimate stores sell dupes (but not counterfeits) legally.
H does have a US trademark for the shape of the Birkin. Can’t contribute anymore than that as I’m not well versed in this area. Perhaps there are lawyers in the room who can chime in :amuse:

Hi there! Cross posting from “Ode to Silver”.
I have an opportunity to purchase a Farandole 120. It’s quite an expensive piece for sterling silver so I want to be sure about it of course! I am 5’3”, would likely wear it wrapped around 2-3 times. Anyone recommend to buy or pass? Also, is this a HTF piece at Hermes. I haven’t seen it on the website at all and have never seen it in store and some of the posts I am reading makes me think it might be HTF. Thanks so much!

Would recommend as my wife has it and is around your height and I love seeing her wearing it. Put it on top of a black top and boy, it pops in a classy way

I’ll say that she has other silver jewelry from H that tarnished, but that was a ring that she wore a LOT more frequently.

We waited a few months for our farandole 120 last year; unless things have changed, it’s def a hard to find piece

I really like mine, but find it leans more dressy because the silver is so bright/shiny.

Is there anyway to avoid the tarnishing ? My earrings tarnished immediately. I love the silver rings but am hesitant to buy because of this reason
