Hi what is the best way to store hermes bags especially if it is brand new? I live in Indonesia so it is quite humid similar to singapore weather? Would greatly appreciate your advice
Hi! here’s a thread about storing bags and the more recent posts, members talk about dry cabinets, etc in a humid climate.

Now that I own B30, I have to say @880 was right when I saw her say somewhere that B30 could get heavy. Before I had my own B30 in Togo, I assumed weight of the bag became an issue only with B35 and larger. I am tall and have pretty impressive biceps if I say so myself. I was shocked. Now I am seriously looking into B25, and hats off to those who carry B35 on the daily!

When weight is concerned, what is the lightest yet durable leather?

Here are some sample weights and sizes, my post 248. I think epsom should be the lightest in any size. However, I suspect modern box leather is lighter than vintage box. . . (Just from seeing 50 year old box leather hides at Duret.

lol. I thought the b25 was heavy with my basic stuff. With nothing in it it was perfect.

This was super helpful! Thank you. I am shocked that Barenia is lighter than Togo! I am wondering if Chevre leather is lighter and just as resilient as Togo?

I laughed so hard reading this!! I think I don’t mind treating my (future) B25 as an accessory rather than a bag because it is really small. I will proudly carry it with just my car key, lip balm, hair tie, and a cardholder inside. With B30, since it’s significantly bigger (to me), I feel silly carrying it almost empty. Lol

would appreciate thoughts on mauve pale? is this color going to stand the test of time or fade into a trendy oblivion as a wannabe pink?

I unfortunately haven’t been blessed with psychic abilities, so I won’t be of much help with predicting the future relevance of Mauve Pâle.:giggle: Nonetheless, I can tell you that after more than twenty years of being an Hermès colour*, Mauve Pâle is still very sought after by Hermès clients!

As I see it, Mauve Pâle (MP) is just the powdery pink shade of this era. The noughties had Rose Dragée**, the 2010s had Rose Églantine, and the 2020s have MP. The new Rose Darling may bump Mauve Pâle from its spot, but it’s certainly much too early to know for sure.

While I don’t quite think MP is a “wannabe pink”, I do prefer the other powdery pinks (there’s just something about that beige resin and Naturel stitching on Rose Dragée…). In fact, for me, the only really enticing thing about MP is its leather availability***. I also think the blue undertones in MP nicely complement people with cool undertones in their skin. Alright, I’ve waxed poetic long enough; those are my thoughts.

*albeit, a rested and reintroduced colour…
**I suppose there was Beige-Rosé too, but (for reasons unknown to me) no one was really excited about that colour back then. And like Rose Dragée, Rose Églantine, and the first iteration of MP, Beige-Rosé was only available in a couple leathers.
***The only purple with more leather availability is Prune and the only pinks with more availability are Rose Extrême and Rose Pourpre. This is pretty impressive when you keep in mind that Hermès has made 50+ pink/purple shades!
