by the way once and for all please someone tell me the correct spelling for retourne or retourner or retourné kelly???

retourné would usually be translated as "returned" but in this case means "turned around".

Retourné. The bag is turned inside out = Le sac est retourné.

(That way the seams are hidden in the inside of the bag and invisible. But I guess you all are familiar with this process in making a Kelly retourné.)

What is the Americanized way to pronounce “retourné”? I speak French, but whenever I pronounce things in the correct French way, my SA has no idea what I’m talking about 😄

I am French and when I ask for a specific color or item my American SA looks lost.
So he just asks me for a picture and/or the code.
I would say “retoorna” is more or less the correct pronunciation.

My SA pronounces sellier like cell-ee-eh (versus sé-ly-é)

It's like the words "lingerie" or "genre". I can pronounce it the right way, but then nobody would understand me so what's the point?

I speak a little bit of Japanese and I also pronounce English words the Japanese way when I speak Japanese.

Thank you! It never hurts to spell it correctly, no matter how it’s pronounced. Usually my spelling is atrocious - the word prediction thing doesn’t help I usually pronounce it with a ‘soft’ french intonation so I don’t scare the horses. Never had any trouble being understood, but sometimes I have trouble understanding some YouTubers when they say these things…

Is there a thread for “stuff I didn’t buy”? Tried on this mink cuff. It’s glam and fun, totally impractical, and of course the only one in the U.S. I just couldn’t pull the trigger for $4500!!
