Just wanted to drag this to the chat thread bc that video is super cool. Didn’t know about the aizome dye manufacturing process and the benefits. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if the birkin will be flame retardant….
The lovely @Hermes Zen created a thread about this wonderful topic. I've added another video to it (unfortunately doesn't embed) and another example of an aizome bag from Hermès <3

My SA is hinting me that I have 2 quota bag for this year. I just got offered a Kelly 25 epsom in Feb. I really want to work toward a Kelly 20 since I prefer crossbody bag more due to hand free and I find top handle bag is cumbersome. I am interested in chèvre leather and I was doing some research. It looks like it’s hard item to come by. If I wanted to wait for my Kelly 20 and it won’t arrive until 2025. Will it be weird to ask for an alternative just in case the Kelly 20 chevre won’t make it in time? I just don’t want to be pushy and needy. My SA is nice and all but I don’t want her to think I am taking advantage of her. Maybe I am thinking too much? 🤔 Would you go for another Kelly 25 instead if 20 is so hard to get? I am ok with retourne. My heart doesn’t sing when I see the relax shift because I know I will not take as great care once the shape starts to be sloughing.

"waiting" for the bag you really want only works if you actually wait without getting another quota bag as a substitute. As soon as you accept another quota bag, your spend and "placement" in the queue for the mini Kelly will reset and you'll be starting over. What people usually mean when they say that a bag takes a long time is that it takes a long time to accrue enough spend and have a long enough dearth of bag acceptances that you move to the front of the line for the bag that you actually want. If a K20 is your true goal, I would wait and pursue only that until you get one. There will be plenty of time later for more K25s.

Thank you so much for your advice! I will keep working toward the mini Kelly!

I do wish there were more protections in place for children online. Kid influencers/children of mommy influencers aren't old enough to consent, and honestly, I doubt they understand their reach or what they're doing.

To keep this relevant to Hermes, I also don't know what this influencer expects to achieve with her child unboxing H. To convince other parents that they, too, should go out and get their kids H bags? Right. Sure. To show off how successful she is? I admit that I'm not a fan of unboxing or haul content to begin with (or, to be fair, much of an influencer fan in general), but a literal child pulling an H item out of a box isn't going to inspire me to make a purchase, nor would it make me want to work with the parent who saw this as a great piece of content.
moving to chat so as not to continue further go OT, but just wanted to add “money can’t buy taste”

I agree with @textilegirl
I brought a couple of deep red Celine bags in a similar shade to Rouge Vif and I found them much harder to wear than I expected.
For outerwear I wear mainly olive greens, black, navy, & grey
Conversely I have found Orange actually works with everything!
Tagging you here so as not to derail the other thread. I'm fascinated that you find Orange a great fit, over a bright red. I'm not afraid of color but for some reason the Rouge Vif, and I suspect Casaque, is a little intense. I wouldn't say that the bag wears me, but I agree with your assessment, it's harder to wear than I thought it would be.

I live in a four season climate, and maybe if I had more summer, and even winter, that intense red would work better overall, but generally I just don't feel it in spring or fall. For some reason I'm not quite as apprehensive about Orange; perhaps I should give it a thought. Poitiron has always been on my list because I think of it as a bit of a toned down orange that might work, but it's not been around for a while, at least in Clemence which is always my first choice.....

I have a K28 in orange Togo and find it to be a perfect neutral. Somehow it goes with just about everything I own particularly if I pair it with a silk scarf with a touch of orange in it. I also have a bright red Prada that I find tough to wear unless I’m just wearing jeans and a white tee…but then I’d really much rather carry my K32 in rouge H box

Here it is:
Hermes gurus, I will be in Portugal next month. How competitive is it? My SA here encouraged me to stop by and ask and even to mention her name to facilitate conversation. She doesn’t know anyone there but said it would show I am a regular. I don’t want to prespend just in case as I prefer to shop with my SA but would be willing to make a sizable purchase as a “thank you” if in fact offered a bag. I guess my question is about both strategy and well as feasibility. I know there are random posts about people being super lucky but that is not a strategy. I am after a really light color MK or K25.
I have not been to Portugal, but I have been to other Hs in Europe, and I have a reg FSH SA in addition to my US Maison. I doubt that a European SA would offer a MK or K25 to a one time/ non local customer unless there was significant spend up front. I don’t know of any store where an intention of a future thank you spend would net anything. Exceptions might be made for high net worth individuals who have an introduction to an SA or SM.

If you make it clear that you have a regular home SA, there would be added incentive not to allot a scarce, coveted bag to you, bc the slim likelihood of your becoming a regular client would be greatly reduced. I am also aware that one’s local SA can make a one time appt at FSH for a special client, but I have no idea if such an appt can be made elsewhere in the EU.

The only location in Europe where one might have a chance at a coveted QB without any spend would be in Paris. Via lottery.

100% agree with you and with @tinkerbell68 re intense red and orange/potiron.

It’s weird how I used to hate orange but now I find it very easy to wear and style, and as you say, a really easy neutral.

I actually did a test run with a Celine cabas tote I own which is in a bright orange with cerise wide border to see if the orange worked with my wardrobe (having made two expensive mistakes previously buying a Celine classic box bag and the 'edge' another Phoebe designed bag both in beautiful deep dark red that I wrongly assumed would work with everything but oddly only looked good when I was clad in all black!).
The Orange works with Olive Greens, greys, blues, browns and as a color pop with black or cream/beige.
It also looks great with 60's and 70's style bold prints (think Gucci under AM) as a good clash...
Honestly I find it a better neutral than my gold bag which sounds like an odd statement but I really find it incredibly versatile.
Incidentally, I live in the Uk and I find Orange also looks great on a grey dull day in a way that red just does not.
