"Hi, Happy New Year. Sorry I have not been in touch. I was stressed about your gift but I finally found something that I feel good about and can afford."

That is such a load of crap. A huge, huge one! She is trying to make you feel bad and there is no reason to. No! I know you less than her and even I managed to do something that wasn't from Bed, Bath and Beyond. :p

ATG: :hugs: Do you want me to give him a shot? I can make it hurt.

BBL: Are you sure you don't need a nurse to drool on a napkin and sitting in your closet? Congrats on the beauty.

Avril: Please stay safe!

Mree: My grandma got bad at the end and luckily she was taken care by my cousin. It is extremly hard and it is a good thing they had you there. You are a saint. :hugs:

IL!!!! IrishL!! Happy New Year. I hope you are well and extremly happy. We miss you. :smile1:

I just met my thesis groups guidance Professor. She is such a lovely lady. Love her!

I have a nomination for COO of Massengil. It's my mentee, the same person who gave me the face scrub for my birthday.

This missive just appeared in my text messages:

"Hi, Happy New Year. Sorry I have not been in touch. I was stressed about your gift but I finally found something that I feel good about and can afford."

Now I'm not going to be able to sleep because a bazillion scathing responses keep coming to mind.

Oh no, you are kidding, right? or do the creeps from SF have your cell # now...

Good morning, Nurse. It sounds like you are on the mend and getting ready for some serious work on this new part of your thesis. I think the new 1975 bag will be here soon. Today, I hope.
It is seriously cold outside this morning. I just had to bring the barking poodles in. Not because of the cold, but because they were harassing the same man who walks on our street the same time every day, rain, snow or shine for the entire lifetime of all of our dogs and they still have to bark at him. He just keeps going and it makes them frustrated. It's not like they would get near him if he came close to their fence. They would back off (still barking) because they are afraid of everything.

Good morning Nurse! I'm so glad you have a good professor for your thesis. That's one less thing to worry about. You've got a good group to work with, a good professor, so you are definitely on your way to a terrific thesis and excellent grade.

I wish I was creative enough to make something like this up.

Is the best response no response?

I was out of it for a while and missed chat. What happened.
And YES. Do not answer her. That does not require a response. Really? Why would she even send you a message like that? At once kind of nice and then all needy and creepy. Yuck. Block her.

Hi Mree. The Keurig doesn't make lattes, but the Tassimo does. From past experience I can tell you they are quite good. But we decided to go with the Keurig because it's easier to find coffee for it. The Tassimo discs can only be found at Bed Bath and Beyond or sometimes at Target. Of course they have a subscription service... We love our Keurig. We are not into fancy coffees.

I've tried all of the infernal machines. First there was the Senseo. Cool concept, pods available in the supermarket, abysmal coffee. It became a counter ornament pretty quickly. Then we got the Tassimo by Braun. Loved the coffee, especially when they came out with Starbucks pods. And it can make milk-based drinks like Chai, latte, and hot chocolate, although the cream pods are kind of icky once they get a little old. But the downside was the interminable wait for the thing to heat up, and the amount of excess water it dripped out of the pod after the coffee was done brewing, and into the reservoir tray below. If you didn't empty it every morning, it would overflow. Next came the Nespresso. My favorite. I keep it turned on and at the ready all the time, and when I pop a capsule in and push the button, I have a fabulous espresso or lungo cup in seconds. The downside is you can only order the capsules online or by phone from Nespresso, so I usually order hundreds at a time. Upside - they ship in a day. I have a Nespresso in both houses. And I recently bought a Keurig for Massachusetts because DH hated the small cups the Nespresso made; he's a Venti kind of guy. :p So I picked up a Keurig with coupons at Bed, Bath & Beyond for about ninety bucks. I love it. I also keep it at the ready and turned on all the time, and the variety of coffees is staggering. You can even make spiced apple cider, green and black teas, and half lemonade/half tea for icing. Best of all, you can get the K-cups everywhere - the supermarket, BB&B, Target, Sam's club, BJ's, gourmet shops. I love Tully's Espresso and Italian Roast the best.

But DH was still missing his Starbucks, so I got a revamped Tassimo by Bosch for the Massachusetts house for him. I have to say, it's a vast improvement over the Braun unit, doesn't leak, and is much much faster at heating and brewing.

So I have three different machines on the counter in Mass. and two different machines on the counter in Florida, and a dinosaur in the cabinet. :shame:

:D

Awwww. :hugs: chat peeps rule! and you too. I wouldn't respond at all to a message like that. or maybe with.. "Oh, yes. Did you get my a private Island?"

BBL: Thank you. Your dogs sounds special and I feel like hugging them. Is that weird? I really hope your bag comes in soon and I feel the same about my vintage one that is spending the holidays in Paris.

Cakey: You are a coffee addict. May I visit you!

So, good morning Peeps! :sunshine:

I was MIA yesterday because I was at the funeral of my friend's father and then at the open house she hosted afterwards. This is the woman for whom I went to work at the World Equestrian Games in Sept/Oct. Her dad was a very prominent businessman in Florida, and he had just turned 96 when he had a massive stroke and slipped away the day before New Year's Eve. While it was sad for the family to have lost such a wonderful father and husband (he had been married for 65 years to his wife), the day turned into a celebration of him, and the service was a great big remembrance of his colorful life.

Then I got home to the most colossal thunderstorm, and the icing on the cake was when DH had to go outside to break up a brawl between my to Terrorists and an opossum. Dodger ended up with a pierced ear, and Mugshot took the worst of it with punctures to his face, chin and neck. I cleaned them up with warm, soapy Betadine water and put some Neosporin on, but I need to take them to the vet this morning to make sure none of the wounds is so deep that bacteria got trapped and an abscess might form. Both dogs are current on rabies vax, but 'possum don't carry it. In fact, it's quite rare to find a rabid opossum. Their body temp is too low to harbor the virus.

So I'm off to the infirmary with the warrior pups. Ciao, friends. :broom:

OMG, the CMB!!! Poor Dodger and Mugshot! Sending get well vibes! Jeesh, what a day!

Nurse - my New Year's resolution was to let stuff go and not drive myself crazy about it. 6 days into January, here is my test. That's how I'm looking at the situation.

Cakey: You are a good friend and I am sending your little ones a lot of vibes! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Restricter: Aaah, good thinking. I couldn't do it. :p
