To make a latte, I use a K-cup in the machine for the coffee and heat the milk in the milk frother (purchase separately). It's very fast and easy to do. I'm probably making something closer to cafe au lait but I like it.

I still need to try the filter that lets you use your own coffee in the machine. K-cups are cheaper than going out for coffee but using your own ground coffee will be less expensive again.

Hi Mree. The Keurig doesn't make lattes, but the Tassimo does. From past experience I can tell you they are quite good. But we decided to go with the Keurig because it's easier to find coffee for it. The Tassimo discs can only be found at Bed Bath and Beyond or sometimes at Target. Of course they have a subscription service... We love our Keurig. We are not into fancy coffees.

Thanks for the info, BBL. Very helpful.

I have been making instant coffee but it really isn't good. One of the problem is I only drink ice coffee. I don't like hot coffee. I should try one of the cold brew thingys.

BBL...thank you so much for your kind words!! Doctors cannot give it an exact diagnoses. Doesn't quite fit Alzheimers. May be frontal lobe dementia. It is physical and mental degeneration. We have been doing similar things. I made labels for his night table with my mother, my brother and my phone numbers so he can call us whenever he wants. I put up pictures on his window ledge of all us too. We are fortunate enough to be close. I bring my boys there at least once a week to see him. I want them to remember as much as they can of him. We wanted to keep him at home but physically and mentally it was not safe for him anymore. He was in the hospital and the hospital would not release him to our house because of his condition. We make sure he has visitors everyday.

So sorry to hear about your fil. It is so hard to watch....

OK..onto happier things...I am posting pics of my outfit today...xoxo

Princess, they can't really make a clear diagnosis of Alzheimers until the end, sorry to say. If he with it enough to get anything out of occupational therapy, because that might help him with some everyday things. I wish they had done that with Dad, because they sort of just left him in a VA place. Nobody could "stand" to see him like that. If we hadn't been so far away, we would have been there every day.

Here's a photo of the (new-to-me) Brown Sellier Box Kelly that I am awaiting.
It's a 35 and from 1975.

Big hugs Cakey, EB, BBL, Mree and Princessofthehouse! :hugs: It isn't easy but it helps to talk about it. Princessofthehouse I am 38 and my youngest sibling is only 29, she is having the hardest time as she and my Dad were super close and talked everyday. She is so lost and sad right now. I guess we just do the best we can everyday.

BBL Congrats on the Chocolate box kelly, it will be amazing! I love my chocolate box kelly wallet! :flowers: Oh yum, just saw the picture, what a great find!!!

Purse good luck with the decluttering, it will feel great when it is done!

laney, mree, bbl...thank you so much!!! Sometimes it is just nice to know I am not alone. Most of my friends cannot even imagine what I am going through and don't know what to say.

BBL...absolutely gorgeous!! Can't wait to see modeling pics!!

Good morning POTH, Purse, BBL and Laney!

POTH - :hugs:

Winky is doing just fine, thank you. We aren't expecting his biopsy results until tomorrow or Friday and I'm sure that it will turn out to some nasty infection. He's in fine form and ate a can and a half of Fancy Feast this morning. Reports of his imminent demise are premature and ill-informed.

BBL - LOVE your new vintage Kelly!!!

I can't even imagine what it is like. I wish I had been advice but I don't. You have to take it one day at a time and I'm sure your father would want you to be happy. Think of the cherished memories you had. He will be with you always, he is right there in your heart. Hugs.

Maybe I should get both!!!?? Ok, I do drink hot cappuccino!! Now I want a french vanilla cappuccino!!

B'mom--I was stranded on the couch last night without my gadgets and Collin sleeping on my lap. Not wanting to wake him up, I remained "unplugged". He had physical therapy yesterday and was a tired boy, falling asleep at 7 and except for a few brief wakings, slept through until I woke him at 6:30! :yahoo:

CK, how is the therapy going for him? Did they give you exercises to do at home? It really was a godsend for PB.

Morning everyone!

Good morning and afternoon!

BBL, that is one gorgeous Kelly, about as old as I am :D

Princessofthehouse, so sorry to hear about your father. There's definitely lots of love and support here, sometimes in ways that are just different from what you find with face to face friends. Can't explain it.

Winky, that's my boy! A can and a half of cat food...:biguns:

Well, OB, you sure know how to hurt an old girl, don't you. Just kidding. The bag hasn't arrived yet. The age of you and the bag coincide with the year of my graduation from college. Oy. The other vintage bag is from 1971, a year after my high school graduation. Yes, college took me an extra year.
