That's great!
I'm hoping for that kind of turn around time!

B-Mom, I do think that it helps with socialization, but with an older dog the change may be minimal. I think puppy-age exposure is of more value re socialization. Still, any and all new experiences are good for a dog if handled well, including the new people, new dogs, and new location that a daycare can provide. HenHen came to us surprisingly timid about new people, and that has definitely been improving. Also, on- and off-leash behavior will be affected differently; daycare is off-leash primarily, of course. Miss Olive is still ferocious on-leash and a pansy off!

OK, here is the 'recipe' for my Asparagus Soup:
(Bearing in mind that I never actually follow recipes, so this will be more like a guideline.)
1 package frozen asparagus (I get mine at TJ's)
1 can chicken stock/broth (I usually use my DH's homemade stock, so just use app. 2 cups of whatever you have.)
Some chopped onions (See note above re: guideline/recipe.Just use any amount you'd like----I don't love onions, so I don't use a ton.)
Using only half the chicken broth, cook the above together until the asparagus is thoroughly cooked.
2 Tablespoons flour (It is very good with whole wheat flour, but that changes everything, so you might want to try it first with regular flour, since it is for making a roux.)
1 teaspoon salt
Pepper to taste
1 Tablespoon butter
Prepare a roux using the above. Once combined, cook for a couple minutes on medium before slowly adding the chicken broth reserved from before. Allow mixture to thicken after broth is added. (Requires a lot of stirring.)
Puree the asparagus in a blender, or using an immersion blender. (The immersion blender is much easier!)
To the pureed asparagus, add the roux. Then add the following:
1 cup milk
1 small container plain yogurt
The juice of 1 lemon (You don't need to use all the juice. We like the tangy flavor from using all of it, but just use whatever tastes good to you.)
Combine thoroughly & heat to desired temperature. Can be served immediately, refrigerated for several days, or frozen for quite awhile.
[It's actually a super simple recipe, but typing it out makes it seem really complicated.]
YUM!! That's the one! Thanks so much, can't wait to throw it together this weekend!
I ended up not doing a whole day, B'mom. I shared my appointments with DDIL. It was fun!
I had to chuckle earlier today. I was in the Chanel store, and had my purse on a chair. A salesperson walked by and fondled my silky balls. I giggled to myself, and wondered what she'd say if I asked her not to handle my balls.![]()
Okay, okay, I'm on fire, freakin' rock star from Mars here, so here's the idea: A chain of fast-food restaurants for dogs, with Henry as the spokesdog, called the "Chew 'n' Poo." Huh? Huh? Brilliant, right? Get in on the ground floor now, Peeps! It's a license to print money!
