Great news on both the invitation and the LV Restricter!

Is the private, invite only sale more genteel than the public sale?

Not in the least. In fact, it could be worse because we all have a warped sense of entitlement about getting all the good stuff first.

Of course, I've only been to one private sale so far...

I hope they have nice things this time and it doesn't rain.

Mindi - sending tons of vibes for you and your mom :hugs: :hugs:

P.S. Great new word courtesy of Avril: "Gombeen."
•A Gombeen Man is a pejorative Hiberno-English term used in Ireland for a shady, small-time "wheeler-dealer" or businessman who is always looking to make a quick profit, often at someone else's expense or through the acceptance of bribes.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gombeen
•Usury; A moneylender during the Famine; A fool or idiot; Stupid.
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/gombeen

LOL!!!!!! ha ha ha ha Mindi :lolots: I am delighted to introduce a new word to my Chat peeps! I should have a weekly update on Chat - "Avril's Introduction to Irish sayings", ha ha :D And yep, gombeen means someone who is an idiot! I think it is only us country folk that use that word though, you don't hear much of the folks from the city using that word! I live in the city now but I'm originally from the country so I use that word a lot :D

BMom - yay for your migraine going!! You must feel so much better now.

Oh, that's a word I could find a place for in my daily vocabulary quite easily. As in, "Guinness, you're such a gombeen! You just had surgery, why are you trying to eat your bed????"

OB - delighted to see that you're going to use "gombeen" in your daily vocabulary! woohooo!!!!! :yahoo:

I picked up my first wedding gift. I think I'm hyperventilating. This. Is. Really. Happening.

Invitations are done. I need to get them, add stamps and put in the mail.

OMG purse - yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's amazing! How exciting! :yahoo:

:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:! Congrats, enjoy it!

OMG!!! Hooray!!!!:yahoo:

It's REEEEEEEAL, pursey, it's REEEEEEEEAL! Seriously, sounds like you are SO on top of things. Try to enjoy! This process can be the source of some wonderful memories.

Thanks guys!

My DM gave me the orange blossoms (fake) that have been worn by generations of brides in her family. I'm taking them to my hairdresser so we can figure out how to style my hair and include them.

Purse, Orange Blossoms in your hair. It will be so pretty and your "something old," too. Yes, it is a very depressing situation, emphasis on the first syllable of that word "sitting." The gas bubble is still in front of his line of vision and makes him a little sea sick. Everyday, he feels the vision is a bit better.

Mindi, are you feeling better? I seem to remember your mother having some health issues (in the kidney area? Am I confusing you with another person, if so, sorry.)

The Special Invitation day is pretty scary.

We got our invitations and I'm on the fence about going. The artisan event is that week, also. My thinking is to go up and go to BG and check out the eskandar and then go to the sale, since I doubt that they will not let us in early (like the other venue:pout:

Restricter, I'm glad that LV fixed your bag -- finally -- for free. That Alma is a gorgeous bag. I keep thinking about that SC in red, but I have a feeling the red will only coming in size HUGE.

Absolutely no greater feeling, B'mom! I'm so happy for you! Woke up with one myself, and had to drug-bomb it. I had things I needed to do, and am fortunately in a very taxi friendly city.

I was joking with a friend by saying now I know why people do heroine....just kidding, don't try that at home, kids.:p

CG, was your spa day wonderful or has it not happened yet?

BBL, your memory is impeccable! Yup, my mom has CKD, which is one reason that high bp is a particular concern. Any sort of health issue that might relate to the kidneys is particularly frightening. Still sending vibes to your DH--but it's encouraging that he feels he is noticing improvement!
LOL at restricter's answer about the behavior at the H private sale day! I will say that I have generally had a good experience with my fellow shoppers on that day, especially with mah Peeps, of course, but there are always a few people. . .:bagslap:
