Well today I made a really good beef bourguignon (if I do say so myself!) - it was one of my better ones, I think I got it just right today. SO and I gobbled it all down pretty quickly, LOL! Then we did some more spring cleaning. Got most of it done, bit more to do but as much as we could anyway.

Have you gals seen the trailer for Battle: Los Angeles? It's out here this Friday. I only saw the trailer for it this evening - it looks brill! I LOVE those kinda movies, Independence Day, 2012, etc.

I just realised St Patrick's Day is Thursday week!! (or Paddy's Day, as us Irish call it)

I love Paddy's Day! It's great - it's a public holiday so we get the day off work, yippee!! :yahoo: I had forgotten it was a Thursday. I might mention to SO to see if we could both get the Friday off work and then we'd have a four day weekend

Hi everyone! I am new to the Hermès forum. I am interested in getting my first Hermès. Probably a simple black Birkin. I know that there is a really long waitlist and that they are really expensive however, I would like to know what the process is exactly? Do you choose the one you want, go to the boutique, get on the waitlist and 6 years later you get your bag? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you:smile1:

Hi and welcome. If you start here it should answer a lot (if not all) of your questions.

No problem. There is a lot to read on the forum; some of the things you asked will depend on where you're located, but generally the waiting is not that long and sometimes there is no wait at all. Good luck!

^ I have been reading some of the info. There is alot. lol I am in Montreal and we have a store here. I am a little intimidated with the fact that you have to say the right thing and know the style, leather, hardware and size you want. I know for sure that I want a 35cm Birkin in black with SH but I am unsure about the leather so I feel like if I ask the SA they will just snub me and put me on a list lol I really like the togo and the chevre leather (which I am guessing is more expensive). I guess I better get crackin' if I want to get one of these babies before I am 30 lol

-I think my 4 favs are the clemence, which ever form of chevre, fjord and togo. Hmmmmm...I got some deciding and calling to do Monday lol. Thank you very much mistikat!

Avril, My DS turns 20 and my nephew turns 19 on Paddy's Day. I call them birthdays of dread. All I say to him do what you want, but under no circumstances get into a car. All I could think of when I gave birth to him, was OMG was he going to get PLOWED when he was older.

Also the OB GYN on call was as Irish as the day was long. I went into labor at 3 in the morning. The doctor must have thought woman's 1st labor, it's going to take a while. So he took his time getting to the hospital. DS was born at 8:45 am. I barely had time for the epidural. He wore a shamrock tie. When my DD was born he wore shamrock socks.

Hey Avril! St. Patrick's Day is an abomination here in NY. Green beer, hordes of drunk fools wandering the streets... My co-worker is from Dublin and she loathes the day with every fiber of her being. At any rate, I'll try to snap some pics of the mayhem for you.

Mindi - hope you're feeling a wee bit better.

Hello all!

OMG! OMG! Paging B-Mom! Kate Middleton is rumored to be using the House of McQueen to design her wedding dress! (New head Kate Burton would design it.) This would be RAD! WOOT!
Mindi news--Dizziness better, pulled major back muscle yesterday (stretching, for Cripe's sake) and am almost immobilized from chin to mid-back. As I've said before, take me now, Lord.

^ Good Morning! I wish it was sunny here. BIGGEST snow storm of the year in Montreal. It was suggested that we stay in our homes unless it is absolutely urgent. I guess going to Hermès doesnt fall under "urgent" LOL

Good morning, Purse and l.a_girl.
No matter what the weather, our Purse always has a sunny day for us!
Now, to look on the bright side, remember that it is March and the snow won't last as long. Our dormant lawn, which was put in back in December is slowly turning green. Yesterday, I saw our Mr. & Mrs. Mourning Doves, some other birds in the yard. So, yesterday it poured, but was warm, today sunny, gorgeous, can't go anywhere.
So, go know.
I need to round up some rides for doctors this week. This driving restriction for DS is really starting to affect my lifestyle, LOL!!
