Yay. Got up at 6:30 to get to the preschool at 7:30. No coffee, no breakfast, but LilOB is cheery because she gets to watch Elmo first thing in the morning :D There's at least 50 people ahead of me, I'm thinking the odds of LilOB getting into her class are slim.

That depends. What's she wearing? And if I'd known, I would have loaned her some jewelry.

OB, so glad not to be you right now. My memories of that are zilch, since DS was in guaranteed space because daycare went through Kindergarten. I've read stories, seen tv shows, now I'll get to hear the ugly truth. So sorry for what you are about to go through. Take it back about 27ish years, I met a group of women and told them I had just found out I was preggers. They told me that (before I call my mother, I call Mount St. Mary College and get onto their pre-school list!) This was a group of women from my Temple in a very small town! My single recommendation is from hard experience, try to get lilOB into a situation where she will be with the same children she will spend first grade with. That was our big problem. Big. But, DS was already a reader, and these kids weren't and they were all in pre school together.
Good luck.

:D She's wearing her pajamas and no bling; definitely wasn't prepared to dress to impress, but at 7am, we're lucky she's got clothes on at all!

BBL, I didn't plan to do the whole competitive preschool thing, I mean, how ridiculous for a two yr old. But this is our church dayschool where she comes on Sundays. Little did I know it was so in demand...it's first come first serve, so there were people camped out last night. If I were working and HAD to have her in daycare, I might have done that, but it's already torture enough being here for 3 hrs. She's watched Elmo, ate all her snacks, pulled all the artwork off the walls, and gotten a lollipop stuck in her hair. We're a mess.

So, Little Miss OB, where are your shooz and hatz. Lollipops? Good look, perhaps? With your coloring? Hmm, I'd say a nice rainbow twist would be great. But, please, my dearest LilOB, hands off the artwork. That's never ok. You must have the best manners of a proper southern lady. Gloves and hats, please. A kilt and knee highs with mary janes, Missy.
OB, you must read this book: Too Close to the Falls, by Catherine Gildiner. It will crack you up.

waves back to all. i'm finding some peace with my doggie situation.....at least right this minute. it's likely she will be leaving us in the next week to ten days. i need a few more stinky messy nuzzles, but it's her time. my little papillion is going to miss her so much...
he is her antagonizer as well as her protecter. her life has been happy, and long. she grew up with my girls, and they are all moving on to their next stage in life. colleges and doggie heaven.

Tesi,
Enjoy and savor those snuggles.

I will be thinking of you. :hugs:

Hooray--lilOB is in!!

Another quick call out for WOW attendees--I'm thinking of going Friday-Sunday, so staying 2 nights. Would love to find someone to share a hotel with...

I don't bite (or smoke). :p

Bmom--What were you seeing for Waldorf rates? and where? The only thing I've found would make each night as much as my airfare (and equal to a week of daycare!).

Here: https://secure.hilton.com/en/wa/res/choose_rates.jhtml?sort=price&targetCurrency=USD

Singles start at $299, double-double at $303. Yes, one night was equal to my airfare, but for the WA I thought it was a steal...and it was less than other places I was looking at that weren't nearly as cool (4 Points, Sheraton, etc.). Even the tracel agent at AAA was shocked.

If the link doesn't work, it is WA's website. There are fields to insert AAA/corp/etc. discount codes if you have them....And it's a Hilton property, if you have points.

Just got back from taking HenHen to a private lesson. I learned some good techniques, and watched Henry catch on to things. . . It just takes patience and repetition to get this "wild child" (the trainer's phrase!) to tune in and cooperate. And I realized how often I let him get away with stuff on the grounds of adorableness. Bad Mindi.

Hi Girls! :sunshine:

Olive!! How FAB to see you in Chat!!!!!! I'll definitely keep you posted on the WOW details (if I'm able to make it)! Hope you are feeling better after your dental procedures. :hugs:

Add me to the list of those in pain & on meds. :push: I finally broke down & went to the doctor after an excruciating night. It turns out I not only have the kiddo's virus, but I also have a sinus infection & ear infections in both ears. [I know understand why kids just scream when they have ear infections----very painful!] (My kiddo, btw, is on the mend, so YAY for that!)

Happily, I was sent on my merry way with some strong antibiotics & pain meds. Better living through science. (Where's Rushka?;))

Mindi----I cannot believe they didn't give you any decent pain meds after that surgery! :faint: I would have died! Hope you are on the mend. :hugs:

ATG----How FAB to have a fun surprise trip!!!!! I can't wait to hear what & where! I adore surprises!!!

OB----Woohoo for getting into the preschool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: That is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds just like me with LilOB! DH jokes that we're such pushovers that we need to import structure and discipline into her life via preschool. I don't think I'm quite the pushover that he is, but I'm not as consistent about rules and discipline as I should be.
