That is wonderful news about Winky, restricter! What will he be eating to celebrate?

What won't he be eating? He's already had roast beef, some tuna, some of the milk I was drinking, 2 cans of cat food and it's not even dinner time.

He's been eyeing a Love bracelet and Jinjy hasn't been guarding the iPad. I smell trouble.

Mindi, don't let them near any vital organs. (Kidding - thinking of the kidney transplant that was given to the wrong patient last week.)

I'm sure it will go well!

And yay to all the good animal health news ... now we humans just need to catch up!

Well, here's some happy news. Winky is good. No need to medicate or change diet or anything. We're just monitoring his bloods 3-4 times a year and adding extra water to his food.

I'm also taking him in 2 weeks for an acupuncture consult to see if we can maintain/increase blood flow to the kidneys. Whew.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you and Winky  :hugs:

Hi everyone, hope you all are keeping well. Sorry I have been fairly absent from chat recently - things have been pretty busy here. :hugs:

I'm interrupting this broadcast to say crap. Double crap.

My massai is at customs, shipped UPS, selling value declared. They want a SS number. I'm screwed, aren't I?

On other fronts, the snow finally came. I was snowed in until mid-day when the plows made it through. It was an unexpected, cozy morning. After getting stuck in the street, I marched in and turned on the fireplace.

Vibes to the BBL household and Mindi. Cheers for Winky!

When I got a bag from Canada, I paid in the neighborhood of 10%. Not to scare you, but. . . it stinks.

Actually, while it's a bummer, 10% doesn't totally scare me. Bums me out, but doesn't scare me. I'm no pro at shipping anything of high value, much less internationally, so I'll learn from it. I think I'll also get stuck with an $80 fee from UPS. So, maybe $250 in total. It's the over $300 range that would really be a drag.

Whenever I get stuck with stupidity fees (could have been avoided had I been smarter or more informed), I play a game with myself to try and earn it back. Save on other things (lunches out, coffee) until I have "saved" what I got charged with. Silly, huh?

I've now learned to never, ever ship internationally with UPS.

Ck, I always use FedEx for international, and haven't been hit with any fees, customs or otherwise. It's probably just luck, though.

And, you're not being silly, at all! I think making up for fees in other ways is makes perfect economical sense. :hugs: You're a sistah after my own heart!

ck, I brought a brand new Lindy back into DC a few years back. Customs took a mere $100 from me. I took that as a good thing. I was honest. I have declared many times more and left with a "wham, bam, thank you for being honest, ma'am and have a nice day!" Karma is good. To this day, I don't know how much that bag really cost. I don't even have it any more!

Do you ever have days when you just can't spell with a darn??? I'm having one of those today.

Little known fact. I love spelling. I love to watch the ESPN spelling bee--not just the final round, the whole darn thing.

I won my 5th grade spelling bee, but lost at the district level. Still remember the losing word. Porridge. I'll never spell it wrong again.
