Yikes Nurse, I missed your post earlier, feel better.... Stay with Mum and Dad and stay warm. Sending virtual chicken soup too.

Cobalt, hugs regarding your kitchen. Sorry about the backsplash. I bet it will be beautiful anyway.

ATG, My DH wears a CPAP, sometimes it drives me nuts if there is not a good seal on his face. Then I give him a kick, he (hopefully) adjusts his mask, then it is much quieter.

CK, Stay warm too.

Hi ladies and happy new year!

Sudafed (spellcheck turns it into sedated) is the greatest drug ever when used in moderation:)
Only thing that makes me feel better when congested (every other day with kids and allergies) so until god forbid I come down with heart palpitations, it's my go to

Big party for us last night was taking kids to ruby tuesdays, and let me tell you that strawberry margarita was a super way to ring in the new year, even better than champagne

yes yes yes.....I had terrible jaw pain after a bad flu/sinus infection, I thought I had somehow given myself cavities in all my teeth from Ricola or something...I went to the dentist and they were like ..... um...hello, its from the sinus infection. I felt like a total idiot and they took pity on me and threw in a teeth cleaning after making me feel so stupid and paying for x-rays etc. geesh.

CK21....neti pot????

Happy New Year Peeps!!

drywalling the garage today.

I have a bit of bad news about the kitchen...
the oven sticks out too far after the granite was installed on the backsplash, and the diswasher door hits it.

bye bye granite backsplash  It was nice knowing you...

feel better OB!!!

Glad I'm not the only one--I was wondering how so many teeth could go south at the same time!

Is it bad that I don't know what a neti pot is? I asked DH. He doesn't know either.

Bummer about the backsplash! Sending vibes that it is easily resolved!

Ck, thank goodness you found some sudafed! The tooth and jaw pain could also be because you are grinding your teeth from the pain. I grind my teeth at night on a normal basis, which necessitates the uber sexy, uber expensive mouth guard that I wear to bed, but if I have any sinus, eye, head pain I can cut grooves into the nightgard in one or two nights.

BBC, lol, I'm always trying to "healthify" recipes too, turning them into butter deficient hockey pucks or the like :D I guess I shouldn't be constantly trying to make Barefoot Contessa recipes which all start with "take 4 sticks of butter..."

CB, oh bummer about the backsplash. 3/4", so close yet so far!

Mindi, sorry about having to have the money talk with your parents. Such a stress and headache inducing subject.

Nurse, I am sending you good breathing vibes. I have asthma and know how that feels. Caffeine often helps -- sipping on tea, coffee, coke may help.

Avril, I was thinking teeth grinding too -- I clench my jaw a lot which makes my teeth and jaw hurt. I try to relax my jaw but it's hard.

Watched the ball drop with my younger son and his GF. Very exciting indeed.

Happy new year, dears!

 DH doesn't wear a mask for his snoring (he doesn't acknowledge that he snores :cursing:), so he gets kicked a lot at night. Works like a charm, but then he complains of strange soreness in the morning...

Me too!!! LOL.

Hi everyone, having an early dinner soon and then watch the winter classic hockey game--Go Caps!!!

I made some sauteed stringbeans with shallots and pancetta. DH smoked a turkey and made some cornbread stuffing. Yum.

Hmmmm....teeth grinding is a possibility. I did it when I was younger, but seem to have stopped, or so I thought. It's not a stretch that it could have returned or worsened during this sinus thing.

Collin and I just had the most wonderful nap on the couch. It was light out when we fell asleep, and now everything is dark. DH wandered in and turned on the fireplace. So cozy!!!

I got Aigle riding boots FINALLY! I've been wanting a pair of flat boots / riding boots for yonks and of course, me being big foot size 43 couldn't get anything in my size :pout:

Then I saw Lauren Conrad wear Aigle dressage boots (same as the boots I got, except they are all black whereas mine have brown tops).

Here's LC wearing them:

So I couldn't get the all black which are the Aigle dressage boots  The next best thing was the exact same pair with brown at the top (the Aigle jumping boots).

Here they are!

And I could get them in a 43 since they do all the big sizes since they are horsey boots!!! :yahoo: And then see that timber yoke there beside the boots? That's to put your foot in when you've the boot on to take it off! I thought it was the coolest gadget ever in the shop! Never even knew that existed, tiz amazing!!!

Hey Avril, so glad you found some boots to fit! The boots with the brown tops are actually called Hunt Boots or Top Boots. Traditionally, only someone who is a member of a recognized hunt may wear them. For most of the jumping disciplines, you only see them on men, and like one's hunting colors they must be earned. I wear an all black jumping boot with laces, called a field boot. I was a member of a hunt, but a lady member so no brown tops for me.

The Aigle boots are classic. I used to have a pair myself (in black) for hunting when it was rainy and muddy.

Enjoy!

Catching up.

Mindi - I can't believe the ingratitude! Forget a hotel next time, MEET them at a hotel so you can have someone washing your towels. Sorry for an awful end to such an awful ordeal. I hope you're taking a well-deserved nap.

Avril - amazing boots and loved the story about your Evelyne. Think of it as the ultimate compliment - a straight man wanted to check out your purse.

BBL - yay for Charley's mostly OK appointment.

OB - thank you for reminding me why I got an Airport Extreme. I'd scrap the Linksys and go all Apple, if possible.

Mree - hi!

Smuffy's exam was a breeze, except where they had to shave her to get a blood sample. While we were there, we visited Smokey who was being neutered. And then we got Winky's test results. There's blood in his urine so there will be more tests.

And that was my day. Fun.

^^^ What she said. :p

Sorry to hear Winky is not in tip-top shape after his tests, restricter. I need to do more catsup to see what's the latest, but wanted to send my :hugs: in media res.

My friend called to tell me their little boy was born last night! A great start to 2011!

I'm having a wheezy asthma day so, it's all coke all the time for me! Curse this damp day! Not a great start to 2011.

So, to recap New Year + baby - asthma = breaking even. Maybe dinner out puts 2011 back to positive?
