ck, I get jaw/tooth pain too, when my sinuses are bad. Woke me up the other night, in fact. Bet it's not your teeth. So sorry you're going through this! Hugs!

Thanks--that makes me feel better. I started to think I was crazy or old and falling apart. I've never had anything like this before and the jaw pain has been the most puzzling. I even made a dentist appt for next week--I was due for a cleaning anyway and they can check everything out if it still hurts!

There are sinus cavities behind the upper teeth, and the eustachian tubes run down beneath the ears and can impact the jaw when the sinuses are acting up. Of course, this is the grossest of gross anatomy--I don't know my elbow from my big toe-- but I'm generally correct here, and truly, mouth pain and sinus problems definitely can go together. Still, can't hurt to have the dentist take a look, just to set your mind at ease. One thing I know FOR SURE--You are NOT old and falling apart!

Hi A-T-G! What's this sleeping mask? Does it stop snoring? My mom's always complaining about my dad's snoring!

DH has sleep apnea. He did a sleep study and they gave him a CPap machine. He wears a mask to bed and that stops the snoring. Sometimes, if he's got stubble or something, he takes the mask off for sleeping. Whenever he does that, I don't get to sleep at all - he snores LOUD!

BBC, I'm impressed, you went out again at 9pm! Waffles sound so good right about now!

Well they taste so much better now that I'm using the full amount of butter and regular white flour...DH asked for more... it just kills me to make something so unhealthy, so I was "slipping in" buckwheat or whole wheat, maybe some ground flax, 2 1/2 tbsp of butter instead of 4...so maybe technically they weren't really waffles so much as "mommy's healthy breakfast hockey pucks", but my kids will eat anything if you put chocolate chips in it. Understand that I really don't cook, like, ever, except for breakfast, although I do bake. It's better for all involved that way. ;)

But OB, I do hope you feel better soon, so good that that little one is better. I don't mind the tv so much, it's the Nintendo DS games that I need to limit here, if my kids sit and watch tv at all, it means they're tired. I am currently trying a "credit" system with DS#1 where he earns game time by reading, except if the games are educational, like sudoku or chess.

EB & Avril, I definitely see your point! I am a bit shy to begin with about posting (can't see myself starting a "reveal" thread, for example), and don't love posting unless I really have something to say. But chatting is nice!!

thenurse, I hope your lungs feel better soon. I imagine that it's good to be with your parents as well, they can look after you. It must be so stressful and I wish you quick healing and strength.

A-T-G, is there a problem with the mask? A dear friend's husband just started using one for his apnea. Please let me know if there are any issues with it (besides his taking it off!).

Okay, I've wasted enough time - gotta get the boys outside in the snow! Have a good afternoon, everyone!

I spent so much time typing that, there were like 10 posts in the interim!

Ck21, it probably your sinuses. I had this exact problem a few months ago. DH is a dentist, so I am totally on top of that. I needed a course of antibiotics to get rid of my sinus infection.

Have fun in the snow, BBC!!

Wind chills here are below zero, temps barely above. There will be no playing in the snow for us! Even Magic, who is a husky, isn't thrilled with the weather!

Thank you, between you and Mindi I am feeling more certain that I don't need a root canal or any of the other terrible things I was imagining. Whew! Must be great to be married to a dentist. There is nothing worse than teeth problems when there is no one open to help, but you don't ever need to worry about that! I'm married to a computer guy, which can also be beneficial.

Happy new year!

I've just returned from the great sudafed hunt. After spending yesterday with the left side of my face throbbing and tylenol not making a dent, I was at the clinic when they opened this morning. It is likely sinus pressure, but they don't trest it uuntil you've been in pain for 10 days. Since I'm still nursing Collin (whoever said that would be easy????), my options were a little limited. Fortunately, the Target pharmacist confirmed that Sudafed would be ok. If they weren't sold out. CVS had some, but with no pharmacist in today, they couldn't sell it. The third place was the charm and I am feeling better. Still have a headache, earache, sore throat and jaw pain (sure hope that isn't a tooth issue), but the pain level hass dropped measurably.

Hope everyone has a great day!

A big welcome to the newer chat peeps!!

ck, I have a (shhh, don't tell anybody) a stash of sudofed. Whenever I'd see it in a pharmacy, I'd buy one and keep it for an emergency. You have to sign your life away, are only allowed a certain amount, etc. Anyway, I can't take it anymore, not even a spray decongestant. I just saw a commercial for (are you sitting down?) Mucinex nose spray!!
I get sinus infections and not being able to do anything with the sinus pain is maddening, because I know how much the medicine helps. But, alas, can't risk it, and if I took even one and one of the side effects happened, I would be in trouble (with my doctor.) Anyway. Take care of yourself. I hope you feel better.

yes yes yes.....I had terrible jaw pain after a bad flu/sinus infection, I thought I had somehow given myself cavities in all my teeth from Ricola or something...I went to the dentist and they were like ..... um...hello, its from the sinus infection. I felt like a total idiot and they took pity on me and threw in a teeth cleaning after making me feel so stupid and paying for x-rays etc. geesh.

CK21....neti pot????

Happy New Year Peeps!!

drywalling the garage today.

I have a bit of bad news about the kitchen...
the oven sticks out too far after the granite was installed on the backsplash, and the diswasher door hits it.

bye bye granite backsplash  It was nice knowing you...

feel better OB!!!

DH had the face mask, and because he was allowed to order up to three masks the first month. He did okay, but decided to try the nose pillows and he got the chin strap (to hold his mouth closed.) Anyway (pun, intended) life has been a dream since the cPap has come into our lives. I am so happy with the quiet. He used to have to wait until I fell asleep, but it didn't always really work. I have had to take Ambien for years. Ask about the nose pillows, he may be more comfortable.

thanks...its going to be really hard to fix...we have to cut the granite in half and replace the bottom section with a thin skin of stainless steel attached to the wall... we were all scratching our heads trying to figure out how this fell through the cracks....I would have to rip out half my cabinets and countertops to move the stove. geesh. I am surprisingly calm about it, LOL! we need 3/4 of an inch....

I think we have to DIY this too, because our granite guy is in canada for two weeks and we want to get finaled by thursday. :sweatdrop:

its going to be a close call even after the fix. :sweatdrop:

the dishwasher door hits the side of the oven door when you open the dw. so, definitely not going to work without a fix of some kind.

alternately, I have to have the oven open when I load and unload the dishwasher.
