Afternoon everyone!
Mistikat, wishing your back better quickly! There must be something in the Chat water as I put my shoulder out whilst swimming this morning! Can we have someone talking about winning the lottery; that would be a much better shared event!
Mindi, you would have loved the story I heard on the radio earlier about a young labrador. The owner thought he might have eaten one of the kids' dolls and so took him to the vet. When nothing conclusive could be found on x-ray they decided to open him up and yes, found a small plastic doll and also the owner's mobile phone! My friend's labrador puppy was also a nightmare; one of his more expensive meals was her DH's wallet containing quite a few £20 notes!! It's a good job they're so cute and adorable!
On a more serious note, hope that the surgery goes well.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Restricter, I hope that the new job would be a step up the ladder, and not like that one the headhunter was trying to get you to go for before! Lots of Winky vibes!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
B-Mom, Kids are all completely different so you can never work out if it was the tactic that you employed that worked or not! My eldest is on the whole pretty good about doing his homework by himself; I've told him to ask me if there's anything he's not sure about, but now that he's twelve, I figure that what gets handed in has to be his own work so that the teachers can see he really understands the stuff. (An aside; when I was younger I asked my mum for some help with my french homework, but she took it over and wrote it out for me to copy. A couple of days later my teacher was handing back our work and said that mine was very good, but we hadn't actually done the future-imperfect tense yet. Never asked for help from that day on!!)
My youngest on the other hand is an absolute nightmare when it comes to h/w. Every time I ask him there is a huge dramatic cry like I'd asked him to give up one of his kidneys, lol! He also cries like this when I ask him to lay the table, and other minor tasks so we've rather got used to his ad-dram performances! It just seems to be something we have to go through with him in order to get anything done. The kids know that there is no tv/xbox etc until they've done their homework so I'm not too sure what else to do, but I can totally sympathize with you about how wearing it can be...
Nurse, a very belated happy birthday! Hope you were spoilt rotten!
Hi to everyone I've missed & sorry for such a long post!!
