Time to do the happy dance and sing...
They're gone, they're gone, Happy happy happy, My house is my own once again. I will even be happy to have HenHen eat salad and poop wherever he pleases. Alone again in my own house. I used to do this after my (sadly now permanently departed) in-laws would leave after a lovely visit. Happy, happy sunshine and daisies, poodles and chihuahuas and Frito dogs and Mucinex and vodka, and rainbows. All good things. Lesson to be learned here: Get a hotel room for the out-of-towners. All of them.

:roflmfao:

Get this, purse--When one SIL's flight was cancelled, DH jumped on the phone to a travel concierge and found her another flight for the same day, landing about four hours later (that one ended up cancelled, too, but we didn't know that yet). So SIL is rolling her eyes and sighing because she would be getting in in the evening instead of late afternoon. And I said, "Really? Tell me you aren't going to be unhappy about that when we actually found you a flight for today." I shouldn't have said that, but I did. Truly, I was astonished. Also, SIL didn't pay for her plane tickets. We did. Wow.

Morning/afternoon, peeps!

I have a computer related dilemma, hoping my computer savvy Chat peeps can help, otherwise I'll be on hold till the New Year with customer support...I got Internet hookup for my dad for Christmas, and with a wireless router, everything works, but, it's a used router that doesn't have a security code, so basically we have insecure wifi. If I hook the modem directly to his laptops (acer and a Mac), the mouse freezes up. I have to unhook thd Ethernet cable and restart the computer to get the mouse to move. Any thoughts? Otherwise I go out and buy a new router, adding to my Dad's anxiety about even having Internet in the first place. Oy.

 WTF? She didn't pay for the tickets?! So the Snowpocalypse was your fault? Happy happy sunshine, vodka, Mucinex, etc etc...ohmmmmmmmm...

Hi everyone,

I did have a long post, but I lost it when my computer froze.

FIL is still in the hospital and is not doing well, and let's leave it at that. Lots of difficult times to come on that front. I did not bring up the bag. Definitely not the time.

restricter, glad to hear that Winky put on some weight.

Cakey, I am glad you are almost home. What an awful drive. Do you do it in one fell swoop?!!! Yikes.

You know BBL, we are going to be scarf twins. I want all three of the ones you just picked. I didn't buy anything at the store because I had significant gift cards from Neimans that were burning a hole in my pocket. Hope the vet visit with Charley goes well.

Mindi (((Hugs)))

Purse, Glad you had a great b-day.

Margieb is doing a reveal down below the sticky.

Sending you hugs!!!!

Here's a word to the wise about checking your work e-mail when it isn't expected: don't do it.

I foolishly checked mine and found a lengthy message from a former colleague who is working as a highly paid partner at a law firm. However, Mr. Highly Paid needs me to answer his client's question. Maybe it's me, but I'd be ashamed to take a job like that and have to ask someone who doesn't work for me for help to do it.

At this point, I'm tempted to help him for a piece of his hourly rate.

Where I work, this happens all the time with our staff attorneys. All The Time!

Countdown to Having My House Back. Guests leave this afternoon for the city, where they will stay at our little apartment overnight because their flight tomorrow is really, really early. A fact about which they have complained. There has also been a little griping (not too much, fortunately) about flying on New Year's Eve and therefore having to forego celebrations. And the family members whom DH got on a train so they could arrive home yesterday also moaned about how looooong the trip was, and how much more exhausting than a flight (which they couldn't get anyway, as everything is sold out for days to come). I am not understanding this. DH and I are driving people to stations, giving them keys to our living spaces and vehicles, helping to haul luggage, paying for car service to take everyone hither and yon. We have helped some family members pay their travel expenses. We have made numerous calls and used our credit card travel concierge to investigate flight options for family members. Still there are complaints. Um, people? There are folks who have been sleeping on cots at the airport for days. Well, all I can do is use this experience as guidance for my own behavior next time DH and I are inconvenienced on a trip.

People never seem to amaze me. Try to not let it upset you, it's not worth it.

Sorry, I have no idea. I'm not very good with that stuff.

WOW! That really takes the cake. :bagslap::bagslap:

Restricter, sending vibes for a good checkup for Smuffy! And good results for Winky.

BBL, also sending vibes for Charley's dental! I would live to see Herself walking down Madison Ave; she's so regal that she totally looks like she belongs there.

Thanks, Mree and Mindi! I'm so not computer savvy...I did my troubleshooting, which consisted of turning everything on, rebooting what could be rebooted, then staring at the cursor in hopes that it would move

OB, That mac savvy I am not.

Mindi, There's a yiddish word for your SIL. Chutzpah. BUT you will get your house back and your DH will be grateful for your patience. BTW, was Santa nice to you. You have been good. Spill puleeze.

Mree, Hiya. Hope work is going OK.

Here are some pics from Tremblant. It was 10 degrees at the top of the mountain and 14 at its base. But it was soooo pretty. I happened upon a couple taking individual pictures of themselves. I stopped and asked if they'd like me to take a picture of them together. They were delighted. I asked them to take one of me.

The last one is for cat lovers.
