Mindi, we all kvetch about stuff here, knowing that people here will lend a sympathetic ear (as opposed to my DH who rolls his eyes and zones out when I start complaining), so don't apologize! And furthermore, we love hearing about HenHen whether he's being angelic or not. If I only talked about LilOB when she is well behaved, you guys would think she no longer existed :D

LOL! When she is well-behaved or has a smooth coiffure! Thank you, OB. I admit, I felt really, really ashamed when CMB mentioned that I talk about Henry an awful lot. She's completely correct, I do, as he's pretty much taken over my life since we got him. DH has the same complaint and all of you deserve a break from my obsession. I actually want to embrace the idea that Henry has something to teach me about letting go a bit. I don't believe in predetermination, fate, what have you, but I do think we have a lot of power to alter our emotional reactions to circumstances by altering how we think about them. (Cognitive Psychology major, can you tell?) If Henry is a work in progress, so am I.

Exactly. You hear more about Jinjy's urinary antics and veterinary adventures than about the cute stuff he does. Did you even know Winky existed before I wrote about him screaming for food and the lymphoma diagnosis?

The best part of sharing is not just the kind words of support but also the useful advice and the sometimes (slightly) painful thwaps of reason upside the head. :lecture::bagslap::noggin:

I've also learned alot about things I don't normally get exposed to like horses, toddlers, dogs of all sizes, building homes from scratch and shooz addictions like I've never seen before.

Anyway, I hope you keep sharing about Henry and that you find a way to manage his behavior that works for everyone in your home.

Hey guys =D,

I'm new around here so I dont really know how to use this forum. I was wondering if you guys could help me find the current price of the 35 cm Hermes Birkin in epsom leather, preferably in the USA as im planning on sending money to a friend to hunt the bag down for me =D

Sorry to bother you all =D

Hey peeps! :sunshine:

Doing a drive-by. I've been super busy the past week with all the horse shows I'm organizing. I have a pre-op doctor's appointment tomorrow for a procedure I'm having next week (routine, nothing to worry about), and we have a memorial service on Sunday for my friend, Colin, who was killed last month. No time to catsup but wanted to say hideeho and hope you all are well.

And just as an aside, Florida is currently the only state in the nation without any snow. :p

Cakey! So nice to see you!

Pair of boots for PB, 2 pairs of jeans and a knit dress....got out for less than a Benjamin, though...everything was 65-80% off:D

But it's cutting into my VCA fund....which I am resisting with all my might!

Yay B'mom! Fabulous finds!

I haven't shopped in weeks. My credit cards are itching from withdrawal!!!!

Of course, the Dennis Basso fur sample sale is coming up in 2 weeks.

I agree with the others, you have so much more on your mind. But I can't wait to see what you find at the sale :graucho:

It IS how H-math works!

PLUS: My BD is this month and PB's is next month, so it's all justified:D.

Excellent use of H math!

Okay, here is some H (and BBL logic and math:) Because the VCA will undoubtedly wind up in PB's hands someday, perhaps on some special birthday, how can you not justify it with that in mind?

Excellent point BBL!

That's how I justified the H-Scarf Collection! I love that she'll be able to say, as she's dropping her DD off at school, I remember when Nonna wore this when she took me to school....

I would LOVE that, BBL! Thank you so much!

I think that's a lovely thought B'mom :flowers:

I just finished a good read. The Collection by Gioia Diliberto, a novel about a young seamstress in 1919 who works for Chanel in Paris. It is interesting to learn about the world of couture and Paris right after WWI. Also, there is the aspect counterfeiting of art and designer goods. Really a good read.
I read it on my nook.

Thanks for the recommendation BBL, I'm going to add this onto the must read list! :hugs:

Morning everyone!

Mindi, I was in your exact shooz years ago when I got my Akita. He was rescued, 6 months old (the pound said 1 yr.) and a handful! He pooped/peed in his crate every day and I almost lost my mind and my DH, made at least 2 Akita trainers bonkers and came close to giving him back numerous times. I know it isn't too much of an option now due to weather, but obedience classes really saved me, and I'm talking private, with an Akita person, classes, not group or Petco (though I tried those too). I know our Park & Recs offers privates, maybe in your area too? In the end, it was all worth it and he was my best bud for 12 years. Oh, at the same time, I was dealing with a Winky situation that didn't turn out as well, if you KWIM.

Lots of stress, lots of DH yelling, lots of tears and self-flagellation, but worth every minute in hind-sight. Hugs, dear, it will get better! Maxx says so!

Serious question, Peeps. What do I do if I am not the right dog-mom for HenHen? This morning he peed in the bed. No schedule change, he just was apparently more full than usual and whoops! He actually stopped himself, but I didn't realize he wasn't finished, so I get up, half-awake, and crate Henry for a moment while I pull back the sheets so the urine doesn't reach the mattress, at which point Henry says he is not finished, not even close, and finishes peeing in the crate. Much to his dismay. And mine. Then, Olive abandoned her breakfast without finishing it, at which point Henry left his, gulped hers, then finished his. All in the space of about 6 seconds. Which I failed to prevent. I KNEW I should have been standing over Olive's breakfast just in case, but I stepped back into the kitchen for a moment, and. . . mistake. So, I'll be expecting loose stool in a few hours (from us both. Major adrenaline overload for me. And I know--way TMI). Last night Henry leapt on the sofa when I got up to let Olive out and almost managed to eat my dinner, which was a Moroccan chicken that had (toxic) raisins in it. He didn't get much, if any, but it was a scary experience. For me. Henry was just crabby that he didn't succeed. I spent a futile hour trying to Google the toxic dose of raisins for a 5 kg dog. (Answer: No one knows. Anything from 1/4 ounce to one--yep, ONE--raisin.)
So, I feel like I am just not quick or observant enough to keep Henry safe. And what was I doing with a raisin-containing dish anyway? What kind of horrible dog-mom takes that risk? (I realize there is no way I can keep every potential dog-dangerous item out of Henry's way. Can't be done. But I feel I should be doing better.) And I love the little bug, but I question whether he is in the right house. Weepy here. Henry is chewing his Nylabone dinosaur, oblivious.
Okay, long, sad post, for which I apologize. Vibes welcomed. But only after Winky's got his for the day! First things first!

Mindi, how old is he now?

I am so sorry you feel this way, I bet you are an amazing Henry momma. But I understand the stress you (and him!) are feeling right now.

Good morning Pugs and B'mom!

Awww, Maxx! What happened to his leg?

B'mom, there's a single motif MOP YG Alhambra on eBay from BrandOff for $1399. It's not necessarily "estate" but it is authentic and a smidge under retail with no tax or shipping. Just an FYI.

It's hard not to be obsessed when you are with him 24/7, have to be 'on high alert' 24/7, and are the one to see every good and bad thing that he does. Kind of like being a SAHM :D I know Cakey didn't mean that you were boring us, just worried that it was stressing you out too much. :hugs:

Lol, smooth hair on my child? Never seen it!
