in other words if you buy from Cannes or Nice, you don't need to claim VAT at the airport? They have their own system? Well, I only need some luck then ... I am browsing and browsing through the colors/ leathers etc :balloon:

no no no
all tax refund forms have to be stamped at the airport. and u mail the stamped form back in the accompanying envelope.

Hermes process their own VAT and only thru credit card refund. so u have to mail it back to them, and after 2-3 months, u will see a credit to your credit card. whether u pay cash or credit card for your purchase, doesn't matter, refund only to credit for hermes.

monaco store is differnt, theirs thru global refund.

Just to clarify, is Monaco classed as part of the EU, in respect of tax refunds. As I'm from the EU, if I buy goods at H Monaco, am I entitled to a tax refund? TIA

I was enquiring the tax refund as they have the kelly boots in ebene for size 38.
They said they are under global refund system, and I get the tax form stamp at CDG Airport where I fly off back to SG. So I assume part of EU.

Just back from Monaco. No birkins or kellys, although we were offered to order one (6mo wait). Great staff and stock.

Thanks ClassicTwist for the update, I'm so excited about going to the Monaco store, it's sounds just fab. I'll be looking for smaller items belts, wallets, bangles etc, though i wouldn't say no to a bag if it's there :graucho:

wish me luck because I just called Cannes boutique and they were not very "friendly" over the phone. "Nice" boutique was a bit nicer and I was just asking about making an apt to come and browse what they may or may not have in the store. Maybe I should try Monaco! I wish somebody had a nice SA to recommend. Come on .. I am sure somebody is reading those posts, somebody who live in that part of France :balloon:

Here is my advice, valid for ALL H stores.

Go there in person and talk to the SA who makes eye contact with you, or talks to you in a way that makes you feel at ease. Start from there. You will get best results.
This person will either direct you to the Sa in charge , or become YOUR Sa....
