Hermes boutiques in London

Recently there is some speculation in the h Japan thread that the boutiques have met their quota for the year and are keeping inventory for January when prices increase. or they could be keeping it for their regular clients who are on the way in or they are on their way to break or end of the day and they can't be bothered to do the sale? Sorry to hear about this at Harrods.

I see! Thank you so much for the info Michelle!

Ok so very silly question and my first time posting in Hermes. If I walk into a store in london and ask for a Birkin 30 what are the chances I will get one? How can I increase my chances for getting a Birkin when I visit London? Thank you!

If that's the first thing you ask for , your chances are Very slim! They won't even take the time to check and just say "sorry we don't have any"
Even though they might have,

Like all Hermes stores you need to build a relation, become a regular customer before being offered one,

Thank you for your response! That is what I thought as well.

My friend was visiting London and got a B30 after she spent around £10K on a watch. [emoji6]

Thank you, thats exactly what I was wondering. So I would have better chances if I end up first buying a scarf, belt etc and then ask for a bag? Also that would mean I have to go everyday or would that technically have to be on the same day? Buying the other items and asking for a bag that is.... Thank you so much!

I am wondering if I should wait to get a bag in Paris or London while on vacation or if I should just get on to a waitlist in my country. That way I can get my exact combination and less is left to chance as well, but also the bag would cost me upwards of 11,000 euros. What do you think?

If you can manage to get one from home then I think it's better piece of mind for you, plus you can get the exact bag you want,
technically you will be spending the exact amount in Europe too , if you will buy other items like scarves belts wallets etc, so why not get it from home,

How is the stock at your home country?

In my country I have to get on a wait list.. Seasonal items I may get in 10-12 months but for classic colors it could even take 2 years and couple price increases! But Im really in no hurry! Im 36 and I want one before my 40th birthday ...

Lol! I know how frustrating it can be, I waited for over 18months to get a croc kelly pochette in black, and it wasn't even the hardware I had in mind!
If paris and London are part of your vacation plans then why not give it ago?

A word of advice, try harrods too, they usually have a greater selections and are more open to offering to tourists,

Hey thank you so much! Ill try Harrods as well. I wanted to get a feel for what to expect. I have walked into Hermes in several countries but to be honest I have never had the nerve to ask for a Birkin. I have this mental picture of the SA laughing out loud at the request.

My friend scored a Kelly in Turquoise in Paris last year. She was pregnant at the time and was acting very needy... :amazed:

Good luck on your travels! I hope your dream bag finds it way to to you. I echo what others have said about buying other items first in London. New Bond Street is a larger store and tends to have more stock, but it can be crowded and hectic at times. I find the Sloane street store a bit more personal and relaxed. I was quite surprised to see two birkins being offered at Selfridges recently, so it might be worth a try there as well.

I would go on the wait list in your country and also try in London and Paris. Good luck!
