Hermes boutiques in London

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

the idea that you make you choice based upon whether your SA receives commission, or not, seems completely wrong to me

are the rules about commission in London understood?

I disagree. Compensation drives behavior. If the SA is helpful, I would want them to receive something for that. (Like tipping great service here in the US)

do you really mean, for example, that if you wanted something in red, but the SA would only get commission if you bought it in green, you would buy it in green?
that might be an extreme example, but in essence that is what OP wrote

Also what is the process for getting a Constance in London?
I recently got a C18, I just asked my SA for it. Said either my wish gets fulfilled for my birthday or I get offered a C18 in gold GHW.

That being said, I was told Constance is still difficult to get, despite no longer being a QB. Many SAs say they have never sold a Constance but have sold B and K to their clients.

My friend said she saw someone get a C18 walk in early morning at Bond Street a couple weeks ago.

No, but to your example, if there was a bleu Zellige item online and a Zanzibar in the store (even though the SA gets commission for ordering the Zellige one through the store kiosk) I’d likely get the Zellige one if that was choice number 1. If they didn’t get credit AND I STILL LOVED the Zanzibar one, I’d lean towards second favorite. That being said, the primary consideration would be how well I think the item would work for my wife. Secondary would be factoring in the compensation factor for the SA.

Think you are both somewhat in agreement that primary objective is that you should get what you actually want
Point is moot re compensation in the UK thanks to info above :)

Does anyone know the premium for a touch bag vs Epsom or other “regular” leather?

I’d love some exotic, but am not willing to pay for a full exotic bag. I can’t seem to find the retail price for, say, a K25 touch, anywhere.

A Lizard Touch Kelly is about 1.2-1.3x. A croc/gator Touch Kelly is about 1.5-1.6x. A croc/gator touch Birkin is about 2x.

Dear TPFers in London,

I will be in Europe soon for the sake of Hermes shopping for about 3-4 days. I do have a boutique that I shop outside the UK. In this trip, I plan to score 1 QB and maybe 1 non-QB in my home store. And, I decided to get this shopping done in Day 1 and to visit London for 2-3 days. Given this background, I now have 2 questions:

Edited: OT

2) In the case if I don't score a non-QB in my home store, I want to try out in London boutiques. I will certainly visit the one on New Bond Street since it is the Maison. Do you have any recommendations for other H stores that have lots of non-QBs (or are generous to tourists)? I am looking for a Kelly Messenger bag in new blue jean (either GM or PM).

Thank you!

ETA: I know that stores in London follow a wish list system, and I have no intent to develop a relationship there.

Hi all, does anyone know please if there's still an artisan in New Bond Street boutique? I've emailed the after sales lady, but as it's been nearly three years since I spoke to her (or had a repair) I don't know if either of them are still there!

There is someone in charge of After Sales and yes there is an artisan in residence. Not necessarily the same people after 3 years though. 🤔 I am sure they will put you in touch if you contact the store. Hope this helps!
