Agree 100%. It feels like our spending towards a QB is for nothing, if everything is based on a lucky dip. And less bags for us locals too…
Yes and I'm not looking forward to the frustration of having to register to get an appointment and then being let down when they tell you they don't have anything.
FSH has a huge stock, so it means that they will have to build a big stock in one of the stores here in order to fulfill the demand.

I think they are doing it because London gets a lot of tourists. I guess hermes UK wants some love from people who will drop 20k during a holiday to get a bag. Also it will allow them to shift the items that locals don't buy.
I suspect Manchester and possibly Royal Exchange will remain "loyalty" stores. As they don't get that much traffic.

Hi everyone! I’m in Paris and I was told today by leather appointment SA that UK is moving from wish list based system to the lottery system, same as in Paris. Apparently it due to high demand. Does anyone can confirm that with London based SA?
Highly doubt this is the case...I went to the store yesterday and a costumer was making her wishlist.
I would take these rumors with a pinch of salt. Not long ago, there was a rumor circulating that Paris was moving from the lottery system to the wishlist one, which has proven not to be the case.
London does seem to prioritize locals and I don't see this changing.

Ugh, I just found out today that my SA's left Hermes... (On LinkedIn no less...)

Given that I don't believe the SAs are particularly instrumental in getting QBs (I got my wishlist B through an email from the boutique rather than a specific SA), that's not the bigger deal, other than the fact I got on so well with them.

Oh well, the relationship will have to begin anew... The Kelly 28 on my wishlist seems ever-distant.

Hi, I’m a tourist visiting in June, hoping to visit an Hermes store in London. Do I need to make an appointment just to browse the store? Not looking for a QB bag, just hoping for a Herbag which I’ve heard I could have more luck getting it in Europe than in US. Tks!

Hi, you don’t have to make an appointment unless you will go on the weekend, then I would advise to book an appointment. I would also probably go just after the shops are opened.
Herbag unfortunately in Europe is quite difficult to get although it depends from your luck. I heard that it’s much easier to get it in US thru H website :)

Have been in London a few days and stopped by the H stores in Selfridges and Harrods for "research". Basically, both SAs said that bag shipments come in weekdays and one needs to come in the morning. I will say that I got the sense that they would be willing to sell you a non Q bag as a tourist. Also of note many of the SAs seemed very new, not familiar with older styles (I keep asking about a Plume) and I chatted with another customer who was looking SAs he had worked with before but they seemed to be gone. Harrods SAs were nice though!

It's a bit of shame for locals who regurlary shop. Now people from various places will just get appointments and get bags before us. My SA is away so still can't confirm.
London yes has high demand, but it's also much smaller city. And would this mean that the appointment be on only one of the stores??

What do you mean? It's a huge city.

I overheard a conversation at NBS where a lady was asking a SA whether there is any update on her wish. The SA says “no, it can take 2-3 years for a wish to be fulfilled and wishes are valid for a year where previously it was 8 months”. The lady asks if spend is relevant. The SA replies that spend has nothing to do with the wishlist as the wishes are fulfilled very simply in order of who is next on the list for a bag with those specs. I found this interesting and quite hard to believe! Maybe this is how the wish list works in theory without a regular customer for whom an SA would advocate. As always, it sounds like no one really knows!

Update from CP. Constance is in need no longer on the wishlist and will be offered as a normal bag, it's actually already offered in airports.
But before they will have to fulfill everyone's wishlist in the Uk before offering it as a non Qbag. It should take a few months and my SA will speak to SM to say that I am now flexible in terms of colours and they will let me know when anything comes in. So if you have a good relationship with your SA it can help in some situations.

I was then offered to add a Qbag to my wishlist, they updated the system and since Constance is my wishlist bag, i was now able to put another one. I forgot to ask regarding the lottery "gossip", but if I was offered to put a new QBag on my profile then I highly doubt this lottery news is real.
Your relationship with your SA is 100% relevant at CP. you get the best service, they keep hard to find pieces for you that they know you will love. I just love shopping and catching up with my SA. I know that everything I buy has been chosen carefully. But if you are only after a QBag and don't appreciate buying things from the brand, then I guess it's a just waiting game for your correct specs to come to store or try Paris.

Exactly, London is larger than Paris, both geographically (MUCH larger) and in terms of population in anything you could consider central...

Either way, what I hear about lottery in London is not lottery at all - it's just that an online system *may* be instituted for appointments. Not the same as Paris, where you cannot get a leather appointment at all* without applying - just a way to handle appointment demand. There would still be walk-ins when available and there would still be long-term customer relationships etc. etc. More like making a restaurant reservation.

*yes, we all know that Parisian locals and people with regular SAs don't have to use the lottery in Paris. But in general in Paris the idea is no lottery no leather.
