Hermes Blacklist?

Thank you. Your answer is exactly what I was hoping to get out of venting. Advice from experienced H enthusiasts about the actual reality of this bag and whether or not I’m being paranoid/completely nuts and ungrateful for feeling this way. if I reject this I might have to wait another half year to come back and it’s not going to be possible to spend $0 haha? Would they even offer anything at that next visit if I spent nothing more? I’m not local to this store. It’s not like I can just say no and then be offered something better (to me) in a few weeks
My best advice is just get the bag and sell it and make some profit and spend it at your local store.

Please don't encourage this. Even with some slight usage the fact remains that there would be someone else out there who would genuinely appreciate and keep the bag instead of getting it to try to flip for profit.

There's already enough frustration as it is that resellers, and the people selling to the resellers, are price gouging and profiteering too much.

Editted to add: Not to mention that if Hermes finds out that you got the bag to flip they could ultimately decide to blacklist you. But if one still chooses to take that risk then so be it.

I wonder if Hermes would really blacklist clients though. Look at the number of brand new exotics available at resellers! Take a K20 croc for example. We all know that they are hard to come by and are in very limited colourways. Surely H will be able to identify who these clients are if they want to piece things together, just by looking at what’s on sale at major global resellers. Yet at the same time, to be able to get offered a K20 croc, these clients must already have a solid profile. Will they really be blacklisted? To clarify, I’m not encouraging reselling. Im just wondering out loud if H would really blacklist clients.

No need to wonder, we’ve seen it done a few times to influencers who go on to publicly complain about it. Sure Hermes doesn’t blacklist every single person that resells but if it gets to be egregious enough and if customers are making specific reports of specific people it can certainly be done. Also, even if a full “blacklisting” isn’t done, the relationship can still be harmed significantly enough so that the bag offers stop coming, especially for the top tier items.

I suppose you’re referring to influencers like Mel from Purseonfleek who got banned. She was still on the lower end of the H “food chain” at that point no?

On the other hand, you have other influencers like Mel from MelinMelbourne, Charis from LVLoverCC and Jamie Chua (ec24m) who openly share about their experiences in rehousing H bags. These longer and more established H customers continue to get offers and the offers get better! That’s the category that I’m referring to.

I think Hermes accepts that their big spenders will eventually “have enough” bags and need to “rehome” some in order to continue seeking new ones (ie continue spending money with the brand) and are okay to look the other way with that. The people who are most likely to be effected are the immediate bag flippers and the ones doing it as a business. Also, if you have a history of flagrant reselling that the SM knows about, they would be far less likely to offer the truly special bags such as the Himalayans, picnics, B20s etc.

Jamie is definitely an established client and Mel to an extent - at least in Hawaii. It hasn’t seemed like she has tried much in her own country. Charis, on the other hand, goes from store to store to store. I wouldn’t call her established at H. Def different though with lv and Chanel.

I feel like mentioning Jamie Chua in the same sentence/paragraph/page/book as any of these other girls is almost laughable, TBH.
Just shining the spotlight on the fact that the ban for reselling is not a blanket ban, and this view has been corroborated by other forumers. There’s a spectrum of H clients who resell.

Jamie is the queen when it comes to her H collection, that’s for sure. Why is mentioning her laughable though? To clarify, its not a dig at her. I’m the biggest fan of her collection. Just citing her to support my point that the ban is not applicable to all clients.

Oh I don’t think it’s a dig at all! My comment wasn’t directed toward you. I simply meant she’s in a whole other league versus these “influencers.” :)

I’m really curious because I know of a famous resale store owner in SEA and flips Hermes bags for a living. This person has their own Youtube channel that details their Hermes journey and everything, so they are being rather ostentatious about the whole thing and it is widely known that they are buying for commercial purposes.

In their vlogs, they seem to purchase their Hermes bags from European stores a lot, so I am confused why SAs and Hermes are still giving out bags to them and not yet banned them. I understand that they are buying a lot of the “other” goods like jewelry, furniture, etc. to meet their bag target but it is still really unfair that Hermes is allowing a known bag-flipper to thrive! Hence us paying the massive mark-ups and market scarcity.

Or is it that Hermes is intentionally allowing this type of scenario to happen to hype up their own demand?

I am in SEA as well, and there're some famous resellers that shopping in Europe and local. Some even have Youtube channel and open the store with all H products (even more stocks than H boutiques, haha).
I brought this 'reseller' topic to my SA, and she said this 'reseller' got banned from all H stores in my country years ago.
So I told my SA that they claimed to be a VVIP in FSH and other European countries.
My SA then told me that Paris already know and got this 'reseller' and close family members on blacklist by let them signed a notice/agreement that they will not be able to buy anything from H worldwide.
Not long after this conversation with my SA, this 'reseller' said in their video that they're lose H passions, as they got everything from H and nothing excited them (hmm?)

I personally feel after the pandemic this is the issue ,Hermes even though they say do not like resellers ,they are doing just the opposite to promote their brand .Their loyal customers have no value, they are slowly going the route of rest of the brands ,influencers and resellers .
