Anyone here from South America and knows the prices there?
Given the current stock situation with Hermès, unless you have an established SA relationship (and even then...), the chances of shopping on another continent are slim to none. And if you're shopping for the most competitive price, if you factor in shipping costs & import taxes, it's not a good option either.

Hi all.. hope you’re staying safe. Needed your advise.
I’ve been offered B30 black togo in rghw, B25 black togo in rghw and K25 etoupe epsom in ghw. Which one would you suggest I should take?
Also, my SA has sugpend 120% more than the value of each of the bag. So for example the bag is for usd 10, I have to spend usd 12 separately, only then can I purchase the bag. Is this normal?
Also can someone advise the price of these bags in USA and Europe?
Thank you very much for reading.

Quite frankly having a SA say that I would have to spend 120% more than the value of the bag
would not sit well with me & to buy things that I have no interest in, that wouldn't work either
I would sooner look for a "bag" on the secondary market. While I know many want to have
the H experience, we all have to find what will work for us.
I'm a Kelly gal.. so my choice would be the Kelly & there are many on the secondary market
that are pristine & evening spending more for the Kelly would not amount to what your SA
is requiring you to do to get an offer. I know in different parts of the world if you
are not a VIP getting a bag is the luck of the draw.
Etoupe is a very unique color.. you either like it or you don't, so depending upon the colors
of your wardrobe, that perhaps should narrow the choice for you

Yes that’s what I’m now waiting to see the rest of the items if she has what I want.. but is this a common practice in various countries?
Oh good, at least if you can get a few things on your list that you love it may make more sense if you planned to buy them anyway.
Not in the US, at least in my experience.

Thanks all for your responses. I have passed the offer for now as they didn’t have other items which were of my choice... and my sizes..so it didn’t make any sense to go ahead.
I think you made the right decision!

It's not about which bag is the better choice, how much you're being asked to spend and the process - more about not being sure what you want. Take the time to really think about it! Based on want I understand on how offers are made it feels like you could go back and get similar offers in a few months' time, so no pressure!

Being based in Europe, I actually like the sounds of this system. It's more transparent and seems to be quicker. Many ladies in London spend well over 120% and wait much longer than 3 months, to be offered only 1 bag and not as desirable specs!

Best of luck with your journey x

although OP‘s experience does not applied to me at my home store, but it’s a very common practice in Asia countries (except Japan). I do agree that the “transparency“ makes the whole purchase experience much easier as not everyone has the patience and time to start building a relationship or to shed out extra $ premium to buy from resellers. There is really no right or wrong as long as both parties are in mutual agreement. In OP’s case, she’s given few choices of the quota bag(s) and other “items” that goes along with the offering, best of all she gets to deny the purchase deal before the “unknowns” that many of us have experienced ...

In terms of the prices, B30 RGHW black (it was SO but it's the same price) was 36k Polish Zlotys ($9.6k).

I would go for either of the 25s with Kelly as my first option since the strap makes it more versatile in my opinion.
But... I would only go for it if I had items I intended to buy that will actually make up the 120%, and if you are looking at fine jewelry or rtw, you shouldn’t have difficulty reaching the said amount.

Being in Toronto, I much rather have this sort of transparency too since we are very well above the 120% spend with no bag offer, let alone in the most sought after sizes.

Good luck deciding.

I am in Asia.
I want the bags for my collection. I already have the Herbag, Evelyn and a few jige..which were bought during my trips to Europe, so I don’t have any relationship with one SA...just have now started to venture into B and K. Whole idea of this post was to know if it’s normal to get offered these bags with condition of buying 120% over value and get an idea of what’s the preferred colour

I don’t know if I would say it’s common like it happens all the time. But I do know someone who had to buy a furniture to get offered what they wanted, also in Asia.

I'm a birkin girl, so B25 Noir RGHW would be my choice then the Kelly 25.
All three bags are extremely versatile and work with most wardrobe selections dear.
All bags retail for btwn around $9,500-11,500 USD
Your SA is offering you very highly desired size/color so that definitely plays into the high spend requirement.
Hermes Asia is GANGSTA!

Agreed. I prefer the transparency. I know in some Asia countries SA will tell you what bags are available in store, how much you need to spend, as simple as that. Especially for long term customer with good profile, you can just tell them your wish list and pick up other items with the bag when it comes. However, the required spending ratio is high at the moment. It is over 1:2 for small size neutral bags. But at least it is quick and you know you are definitely getting the exact specs you want.

In Europe, I also see people spending well over 120% (including myself) not getting what they desire. I am quite chilled as I have already had built up good collections. However, sometimes it can still be annoying when you see other people getting bags that are super sought after with very limited spend (if what they say is true)

Thanks for your response. Do the prices vary for various colours? I do know it varies depending on type of leather, hardware and size. Tbh this SA has quoted me the K25 epsom for usd 16,797 and B25 togo for usd 13,198.
this is much higher from what I’ve seen and heard in the forum

I would say that this is common within Asia. I am based in Canada, however, when I travelled to Seoul (where I got my first K) i was asked to do the same. They told me they were expecting a shipment, however, they can only offer me if I had spent x amount. I was okay with that as I was only in Seoul for a week or so and I have no time to "guess" how much I need to spend in order to get a bag. We went through the store to choose my items and thankfully they had a wide range of items for me to choose from as the store was the flagship store with 4 levels so they had tons of inventory. Having said that, the specs that you were offered are very desirable and in Canada you most likely have to spend more than 1.2x the bag in order to get offered those.

Regular Hermes pricing of regular B/K styles varies by size and leather only. Not hardware or color.
Your SA is telling you whatever US prices & infos she wants (which are wrong) because she wants you to spend spend spend moreeeee.
Trying to figure out her pricing has nothing to do with the actual price of the bag.
US pricing is irrelevant anyway... you shop in Asia ... but suggest you go to the pricing thread to educate yourself because your SA seems to be playing tons of games with you, sadly.
