For everyone who owns or has seen Acte III color way 12 what color is the hem? This is my one concern about this color way. I know myself and I do not gravitate towards color ways when the hem does not pick up enough of the same color in the design, if you know what I mean. Over the years I have tried and I just know it does not work for me for whatever reason.

I'm not actually a fan of Acte III, but the lady would be Titania, queen of the fairies, and spectacularly beautiful. It's hard enough in an actual play to convey that - I've seen it done with her (or everyone) masked to get around it. For a global company all about making women of all nationalities feel beautiful, I would imagine they'd want the wearer to imagine themselves (or their personal beauty ideal) there.

(Which is squicky in its own right because Titania is humiliated through this scene and the play, making it my least favorite subplot and a big part of why I'm not interested in the scarf.)

(ETA - it's been forever since I read/saw the play. Is this the scene where she realizes she's been tricked? That would at least be a less squicky scene.)
Oh... of course... TITANIA!!! I'm blushing now. I knew she was someone important in the play, was thinking "Helena? Hermia?" and neither felt right.

Yes, I agree, Oberon drugging her so that she will sleep with a monster is quite squicky. Probably would have had them rolling in the aisles at the original Globe theatre, but now, not so much.

The hem is a bright orange-red. It picks up the brick tones in the pattern, but given your feeling about contrasting hems, this is one you might need to see in person!
Thanks Mindi B, I may not be getting in to a boutique again until November. I agree I need to see it in person. I love the interior of this color way!

I tend to like scarves with more simple, strong graphic effects than the detailed "busy" scarves that are so popular here. I really like quite a few this season, though I'll wait to see them in the store:
  • Cercle in black/white with the red hem looks so sharp tied.
  • Astrologie Nouvelle Tattoo in blue or red... I love Astrologie but very few of the original cws, find AN completely uninteresting, but ANT is just cool. (My brain, it is irrational.)
  • Della Cavalleria Finesse - I have no interest in DC, but something about the curves against the rigid graph, and the delicate coloring of the graph itself, is just amazing.
  • H en Fil - swoon.
  • And I have no CSGMs, but think the Harnais Francais Remix Losange, again in black/white with a red hem, would be super sharp and keep me warm in the winter with less bulk and 1/2 the price of a CSGM.
I like florals, like Fleurs de l'Opera, and geometric scarves that are not overloaded with dots and such. I like Nigel Peake's Promenade au Faubourg in brown/burgundy from 2013 or so. And Tyger Tyger isn't too complicated and I love the flowers around the tiger.
I hope to get H en Fil in brown.

Dear @vildachya, here are the pics that show the red hem on Acte III, CW12BAEF318A-FB0F-45A2-8FC5-8763A809A229.jpeg A22DF197-A243-4327-9316-1BA7C6FD1685.jpeg
I’m inclined to agree with you on most of your comments. I love the idea of Act III but that moon is haunting me and not in a good way.
The baobab cat scarf is beautiful tied but those eyes....hmmmm. I bought so many SS scarves that perhaps it’s good that a few of these are causing me to stop and make more thoughtful selections.
Many thanks to those who have so kindly posted photos so far.
I would try it if I were you. I’ve found that every time I’ve tied it, the moon has seldom shown up, and I’ve not been intentional about it. Same with the Baobab Cat. I folded it in the store a few ways and couldn’t tell that there was a cat with big eyes there, otherwise it would have bothered me. Take a look at my pics to see a few knots where you can’t see the moon at all.

I'm leaning your way with AW18. However.

I'll admit that I'm quite fascinated by Acte III. Love the play, love the Rousseau-like artistry (thanks to @lanit for this insight). But it's such a busy design, and I'm so short, I'm worried that it will overpower me. Definitely need to wait until I can see it in the store. I do like the "cloud" corner and the "stripe" corner, but I'm kind of bothered that the lady standing by Bottom has half her head cut off by the moon. :whut: I realize this won't show when the scarf is tied, but still...

Baobab Cat is another one that draws me, in a way, but only when it's tied exactly right. I'm worried about the eyes, and I'm also worried that the polka dots will make me crazy.

We'll be in San Francisco in October, and will of course schedule plenty of time at the boutique. I'm fully prepared to fall in love with BOTH of these designs and be back here eating humble pie!
Again, you need to try them on to see. Same thing happened to me with the horse’s eye in Appaloosa so I avoided it like the plague. Then, super late in the game, I tried it on and fell in love. I wear it like crazy and every time I tie it the eye never pops up. I’m so glad that I bought it because the rest of the design is spectacular and amazing tied. I feel the same about the Baobab Cat.

It is kind of creepy....
I love the artistry of the design when appreciated flat but once tied, I would need to hide that moon.
I’m not in love with it tied at all.
Conversely, baobab cat is weird flat...silly, perhaps but pretty when tied (except for those eyes inevitably on one’s neck)....
Need to see both IRL
Believe me, it’s super easy to hide the moon. As a matter of fact, I purposely have to try to play it up in those knots I posted where it actually shows up. Same thing with Baobab Cat. I found it super easy to fold the eye away and focus on the beauty of the rest of the design.

oh no! the beautiful pictures of cw06 knocked me off the fence and I ordered one. Now this! thank you for posting these, they are beautiful although they do complicate the decision process.
Don’t worry. I own all of these designs and CWs and the only two that worry me for being too similar are Jaguar Quetzal CW1 and Acte III CW 10. Sure the colors are similar in the Samouraïs pictured and Acte III, CW12 but stylistically they couldn’t be more different, so it’s not an issue, at least for me. You will have to judge for yourself.

LOL - I feel exactly the opposite. I don't mind a moon face on my shoulder, but I think there is no way to tie that bobcat that doesn't look weird. But I also don't like it flat.
Ha! I hated that darn cat, so I was very hesitant. Then I tied it and completely changed my mind. And the vibrant, painterly quality of the design are stunning. Ties gorgeously!

+1
I won't say that I don't like the scarf or that I wouldn't like it until I see it IRL and on. I love everything about it except the moon. The moon is a bit on the freaky side for me and I know I'd have to tie it in a way that it didn't look like "Big creepy face moon" on my neck.
I've read too many horror stories.
Believe me, the moon disappears 90 percent of the time when you tie it. I’ve tied it multiple ways and the creepy moon has been nowhere in sight. Now, I understand if it bothers you, period, when lying flat then that will be a problem.

The hem is red. I thought I was gonna hate it and actually loved the pop of the red color when tied. You’ll have to try it on yourself and decide. Today I took a couple of pics that show the hem and I actually like it. See the pics above

I hope you get a chance to see it, vildachya! I just got mine (cw 12) today. I love it too, and the website pictures do not do it justice. All hail the tPFers who have given us such great IRL shots of this scarf. It is more vibrant and the tones much warmer in person than the official photos suggest.
I totally agree, I just got mine too and the colors are so much more vibrant in real life. I honestly feel I will get lots of wear out of this one.

FW, I, too, do not feel the scene is resonant with me, so I must weigh this in the matter of deciding between the fab design+cw vs. the theme. But the artistry is truly lovely, of course! And I'm glad for each "new" artist for H scarf designs. Looking forward to more from him next season.

My new twilly just arrived. It will work with my orange K but will need to find one more if I want to use it with my B.View attachment 4123138
Beautiful complimentary colours here, Nahreen! Maybe you do need 2 of them? ;)

THANK YOU, dear Fifi, for taking the time to photograph cw 12 to show the hem. Wowza, the red looks absolutely amazing against the purple "cloud" corner!
You are a real doll to post so many photographs for those of us who don't live near an H boutique. :hugs:
